"Sure. I can stand in the doorway and heal everything in range in the meantime."

Will smiles and heads towards the door.

"That is not the best use of our time Will," Jack says gently, but firmly.

"Is the murderer problem time-sensitive on the scale of hours?"

"Miriam needs to rest and should go to a hospital. If we want to talk to her, we shouldn't wait."

"I can speak for myself," Miriam says, fumbling with her words after so long spent in silence.
"That bastard needs to rot and I'll do whatever I can to make sure he does. But, if your dog isn't dying," she turns to look at Will, "then I want to do it now."

"Of course," Will says, looking slightly ashamed.

"Reasonable," says Taliar. "I do want to stand in your doorway and heal everything at some point, though."

"You can now."

"All right."

Jack and Bella sit down next to Miriam.

Will watches, but stays to hold the door for Taliar.

"What do you remember?" Jack asks, gently.

"Light," Miriam says. "So bright I could barely see, but I couldn't look away. A voice."

Taliar steps just outside the door and closes his eyes and fills a two-mile radius with beautiful golden healing light.

"I remember you. I remember wanting to help, but not much after. I knew you'd come though. I knew you wouldn't give up on me."

"I'm sorry. We should've found you sooner. We should've suspected."

"I never saw his face, or heard his name. Did you find him?"

"Yes," Jack hesitates, it's painful to admit. "It was Hannibal Lecter."

"I don't recognize that name," Miriam says.

It seems there's no one else in range who needs to regrow limbs; Taliar's healing aura already feels like it's done its job. He keeps it going for a few more seconds and then ducks back inside.

Will sits at Miriam's table.

"I think he drugged me. There's no other explanation. My memories are confusing and I'm missing so much. You look older Jack."

"Did he hurt you?"

"Not after the arm. He fed me, gave me books sometimes. I was always in the same room. It was usually dark. He could control the lights."
