Did the telepathy and the magnetism not give it away?

Yeah my full name is Edie Lehnsherr.

And yeah we can but it's still appreciated.

ok, in my defense, i am the world's biggest dumbass.

pff I doubt it.

i defy you to find somebody who is a bigger dumbass than me. i am legendary.

He's trying to sound calm internally but is clearly cracking up out loud.

I dunno, I grew up in a boarding school. I have met some pretty epic dumbasses.

ooh. dish.

Well, there was the guy who had super-strong bones who jumped out a third-story window to demonstrate this.

Right onto a rosebush in full thorn.

ooh, ouch. pick better windows, dude.

or get scratch-proof skin, i guess.

If he had done that he wouldn't be a dumbass!

I pushed a friend out a different window when I was five but he was invulnerable and he bounced.

invulnerable? nice.

man, i'm jealous. i really don't know a lot of us.

Well on the other hand I've been here less than a day and this is the longest I've ever been around this many non-mutants. Parents didn't want to send you to the school?

oh, god, no. i might've gotten ideas.

i fell out of a tree in 5th grade and broke my arm for, like, 5 minutes. they made me wear a cast for a month anyway.

[strong disapproval/disgust aimed at this action]

ok, it is awesome to feel somebody hating that as much as i did.

Being a mutant is awesome and parents who make their kids hide it are terrible.

we are so in agreement.

I'm glad! You'd have liked it at the school, I bet, there's--a whole social structure set up to deal with the aftereffects of relevantly terrible parents,

...wow. that's pretty amazing, actually.

i'm glad someone is there for those kids.

Yeah.

Although, to be fair, not all parents who make their kids hide it are so much terrible per se as possessed of terrible neighbors and seriously concerned for their kids' safety.

yeah, that's fair.

sucks it has to happen at all, though.

Very much.

...does it get, like...loud? when you're in a place with this many people?

not literally, i mean. brain-wise.

Not exactly? It's more like the difference between a piece of paper with a few dots on it and a piece of paper with lots of dots on it, it doesn't really stack like noise does.

yeah, i think i get that.

it's not...uncomfortable or anything. just more to see. sense. whatever.

Yeah, exactly.

[vague sense that having more available to sense is aesthetically pleasing]
