"Hi!" says Serik. "Thank you for taking such good care of my Jiath! I murdered your best friend."

"..."

"Yes, I know, that wasn't very nice of me. But I had one of those too, and I was much better off without her, and this one was torturing your son's best friend so I'm pretty sure you're not going to miss her all that much."

...he sighs.

"Yeah, all right."

He is still really not done hugging Serik but hugging Siurek seems more urgent at the moment.

Serik gets a last hug and then Jiath unscoops himself and goes over to hug Siurek for the moment.

Siurek hugs back. And then pulls Jiath into bed with him for a proper snuggle.

Serik has a moment of internal debate, concludes that this probably is the sort of situation that can be improved by cuddlepiles, and snuggles up to Jiath's other side.

Jiath certainly thinks it's improved by cuddlepiles.

"I'm sorry about your friend," he murmurs, snuggling up thoroughly.

Sigh. Snuggle.

It's kind of weird being in a cuddlepile with other-him, but... not bad weird? Jiath is cozy.

Jiath is the coziest. He has two Seriks of cozy. This is a lot.

"He's definitely going to find a way to share his magic with you," he adds, to Siurek, "I checked."

...he smiles, and pets Jiath.

Meanwhile:

"Well," says Tano, after a moment. "I ... was not expecting that."

(He should probably stop hugging Ruava; the prince probably needs hugs more than he does. But it is very hard to act on this conclusion.)

"Me neither," says Ruava.

"I... really can't tell how worried I should be about the absurdly powerful otherworldly version of my father," says Korovai. "He seems so... bizarrely helpful?"

"...if the otherworldly version of you weren't basically happy," Tano observes, "I can't imagine that the version of me would, ah. Feel that positively about the version of your father?"

"I see what you mean."

"...that being said, I ... don't understand how that works at all."

"It's confusing."

"He's like your dad but nice. Which before today I would've thought was a contradiction in terms."

"And more dangerous than Nirue."

"But not at all interested in ruling the world!"

"...neither was she. But, yes, I -- it's certainly an improvement."

"Mm - the thing I'm thinking is that if Siurek stops wanting to rule the world then he can let Korva do it instead and then we get almost everything we want except for the part where I bet Siurek's not going to want to give up his favourite hobby along with his empire."

"That would be -- good."

(It would be better than good but if he starts down that route he is going to run out of adjectives.)

"Yeah."
