Some skills remain important until the day you die

Sadde doesn't need her father's permission to learn to drive. So she can just—learn it.

Her very loving doms are more than glad to teach her. They are in fact very glad to have opportunities to drive her quiet places without other vehicles (and people) around for some quiet teaching time. Today is Felix's turn. They're reviewing the basics on a desert road.

Hooray. Basics. She hopes she gets some reward after that.

Permalink Mark Unread

An attentive student like her? Of course. They make sure to leave the afternoon open so they have plenty of time... for teaching.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmhmmmm.

So, what now, o glorious teacher?

Permalink Mark Unread

Sadly, they must make their way back home. Ohterwise they will be late for dinner. More good student rewarding can happen after dinner.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh well.

She can probably drive back?

Permalink Mark Unread

Sure. Practice makes it perfect. Away they go.

Sadde, as a good student, is probably being very mindful of things like what she sees in her rear mirror. Like that biker behind them, completely covered in leathers despite the hot sun, the only thing visible being the white-hair trailing behind her...

"White hair, huh," she says, after having seen this, but keeps her eyes on the road.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fashionable." Then Felix blinks. "Uh... the next town in that direction is at least an hour away..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay, keep calm, eyes on the road. ...Are you able to contact Fenris? I can't."

Permalink Mark Unread

"—I can't either. Uh, what? You think we're being followed? They could just be going to the same place as us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I guess. I am probably just have been paranoid lately, not getting enough sleep." Sigh. "Still, Fenris wasn't going to get too busy to at least ping back at this hour of the day."

Felix looks at the white-haired biker. "Uh, maybe turn left at the next intersection, just to see if she follows?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"—yeah, sure."

She does that.

Permalink Mark Unread

The biker reacts immediately to follow them. Felix - who can look at her directly - says. "I think she just spoke through an walkie-talkie."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay, that's actually kinda freaky. Do we call nine-one-one for this kind of thing...?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I gonna keep my phone on hand-"

Permalink Mark Unread

The bike girl speeds up and swerves them. "Watch out!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Sadde brakes immediately.

Permalink Mark Unread

The white-haired woman approaches the passenger side. She is holding some kind of metallic cylinder in her hand.

Felix, not really thinking, throws the first thing he grabs (a book) at the woman's hand. She drops the cylinder and turns around to pick it up.

"Speed up!" he tells Sadde.

Permalink Mark Unread

She does.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix grabs his phone. "No signal."

They are back in the intersection again. The biker is catching up to them.

Permalink Mark Unread

She goes in the direction of the closest human setlement and speeds the fuck up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Felix is looking around looking for anything and trying to make the phone work.

The biker is quickly catching up to them, apparently aiming to reach Felix's side of the car once more.

Permalink Mark Unread

Come on Fenris where are you—

"I might want to crash into her," Sadde says, mostly succeeding at sounding casual.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Try not to hurt her too much. Just breaking her bike should be enough and then we can get to safety," he says grimly.

The woman is getting closer.

Permalink Mark Unread

She tries to pay attention to swerve at just the right moment...

Permalink Mark Unread

And the woman is reaching out with the mysterious metallic cylinder towards Felix...

Permalink Mark Unread

Swerve -

Permalink Mark Unread

The biker notices and manages to brace herself, but she can't do it and keep her hold on the cylinder. With the impact she and her bike spiral out of the road.

The car sways suddenly, like something hit it. Felix turns to look back. "The cylinder is in the back seat!"

The car sways again; this time it feels more like it was hit by a strong wave or something? They hear a metallic clack from the back. Felix undoes his belt and bends towards the thing, his hand holding onto Sadde's shoulder.

There is an even stronger wave of force. This time they can even feel it emanating like a bubble from the backseat.

The car lifts into the air and rolls over.

Felix is thrown against the hood.

Sadde doesn't have enough time to scream.
