Sasuke and Sakura in She-Ra
Permalink Mark Unread

They've finally gotten a chance to slip out, when Shadow Weaver's busy and no one's paying attention to them -

Sakura wants to explore the Whispering Woods. She's heard rumors of First Ones technology spreading among the Horde's ranks.

Of course, she's taking her friend (almost brother) Sura with her.

Permalink Mark Unread

He's less enthused than Sakura is, but he'll let himself be dragged along.

Still -

"We shouldn't be out too long. If we don't find anything within an hour, we're turning back, okay?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aw, where's your sense of adventure, Sura?" she teases as they cross the wasteland between the Fright Zone and the Whispering Woods.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm going along on this, aren't I?" he asks, a bit snippy.

Permalink Mark Unread

She shrugs, and turns the hover-skiff into the woods.

Now...

What goodies are here for her brilliant mind?

Permalink Mark Unread

The whispering woods are kept out of for a reason. The trees seem to change locations when you aren't looking and going in a straight line from point A does not always end up at the same point B. And a tree branch that Sakura could have sworn she was clear of clips the skiff and causes it to buck and throw both of them out of there. Falling down beneath the canopy and onto the ground.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fuck ow.

She goes flying, successfully tumbles and doesn't hurt herself too bad -

But when she stands there's no sign of Sura, and no one responds when she hesitantly calls out.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ow.

Sura isn't so lucky, but he's not banged up beyond his ability to walk, just bruised.

He stands, doesn't hear Sakura, but also doesn't start shouting, and looks around.

...He thinks he remembers where the edge was, he can't see the skiff, and he doesn't want to sit around to be rescued.

He starts walking.

Permalink Mark Unread

There is a glow in the woods, white light reflecting off the trees from something shining just out of sight blocked by a little ridge. The trees even seem less sinister and brooding in the pure white light.
Sura could go closer to check out what it is if they were curious...

Permalink Mark Unread

Probably not the edge. It's not that bright around the Fright Zone.

Maybe finding something will get Sakura to calm down - or at least redirect her energy - for a bit, though, so he turns to head towards it.

Permalink Mark Unread

There is a big shiny glowing shining sword stuck upright in the ground. The Horde has swords but nothing like this. It still looks dangerous to cut someone with but it doesn't look menacing like a Horde sword would. A bit long for someone Sura's height to use in one hand so seems more like a two-handed broad sword. It's Beautiful and shining and pure.

Permalink Mark Unread

...That is a very well made sword. It's cool, in a way Horde swords often aren't -

Sakura can find her own entertainment, this's his salvage.

He goes up to try and pull the sword out of the ground.

Permalink Mark Unread

As soon as Sura touches the sword there is a blinding flash of light, and then a vision of a blue planet for only half a second while a woman's voice says "Balance...must be restored".

More images flash by with barely any time between them. A flowering field, A Pink person sized gem hovering in the middle of some sort of golden flower shape on a pillar. "Etheria must seek a hero." the woman's voice continues. a flashing image of the sword upright, an image of a temple covered in vines.

Then Sura sees a caped woman with flowing hair billowing out behind her holding the sword while the sound of a baby crying can be heard, and the figure turns to look at him with shining white eyes.

"Sura...Sura..." The image changes to a purple woman looking at him head on calling his name.

The voice changes to Sakura's as Sura's eyes flicker open and realises Sakura is shaking him awake and calling his name.

Permalink Mark Unread

"...The hell," he groans, sitting up.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Easy, you took a pretty bad blow there. I couldn't find any injuries for why you were unconscious, but that doesn't mean something's not wrong internally."

Permalink Mark Unread

" - I think. I had a vision. From the woods."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Huh. That's usually not a property here... What was it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A sword. A nice one."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smiles and shakes her head. "You and swords... Might've been First Ones tech. There's a lot of ruins out here. We need to get back, but we can come back out to look for it later?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. But I call dibs."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "Fine. Just let me play with it sometime."

And then back.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course, to Sakura's eternal frustration, the next time they get an opening it's really only enough for one of them. Someone will have to stay behind to distract Shadow Weaver.

"Ugh," she groans after talking with Sura some. "Okay, so, you know where the shiny sword is, it's your salvage - but you better rush back, alright? I don't want to have to deal with her alone too long. And I call best friends get to poke at each others' fancy salvage rights."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fine. And thanks, Sakura. I'll be back soon, I promise."

And he sets out with a wave, into the woods to look for his vision-sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

Meanwhile, in the castle bright moon, Princess glimmer has just been grounded by her mother the queen for having fought horde soldiers against orders. She is angrily writing in her Diary when an arrow thunks into the headrest and a little picture of a familiar face and the words "look outside." and an arrow pointing to the window rolls out of the shaft. So off she goes to the window.

It's her best friend Bow! standing outside the tower window on the border of the forest.
"Watch it! you almost hit me!."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Heeeeyyy glimmer!." Bow shouts with enthusiasm (as he does most things with boundless enthusiasm), waving up at the window.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Shhhhh! Bow what are you doing here?!" She tries to whisper-yell down at him so her mother wouldn't hear.

Permalink Mark Unread

"WHAT DID YOU SAY? COME DOWN HERE!." He yells back up.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can't, I'm grounded." is a bit louder but still not raising her voice very much.

"WHAT?" yells back Bow.

"I'm groundeeeddd." Glimmer cupping her hands around her mouth to direct her voice.

"WHAAAAT?" Bow being entirely too loud.

Glimmer slams her fist against the windowsill. "I'm" and she vanishes in a puff of sparkles and reappears next to Bow with her hand over his mouth. "GROUNDED" she says grumpily right in his face.

And then they both vanish into sparkles and reappear in her room with Bow giving out a yelp of surprise.

Permalink Mark Unread

Now he is in her room anyway violating the grounding she lets loose on how mad she is about her mom grounding her for trying to protect a settlement against the horde, and how her mom had only sent her there because it was supposed to be too far away from the front to get attacked.
"It feels like she thinks I can't do anything because I'm Just a princess."

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow is a very supportive friend, nodding in the appropriate places while she rants.

"That doesn't make sense, Everyone here is a princess." He says while folding up Glimmers clothes and putting them away, he is a very helpful friend indeed.
"I'm, like, the only one who's not a princess." He says kind of glumly, everyone else gets to have cool princess powers.

"Hey, where does this go?." meaning the clothes he is carrying.

"Bottom drawer." responds glimmer teleporting and flopping up onto her bed hanging from the ceiling all Ugh'ed out over being grounded.

So he puts away her things. "Anyway, your mom might have a point. Only reason you got out of there is because of your teleportation powers. And, let's face it, they don't always work that well."

"Looking for support here Bow!" Grumpy glimmer throwing a pillow off the side of her crazy ceiling bed.

"I'm just saying, if you wanna prove yourself It's gonna take more than running recklessly into any old battle." while jumping up the floating platforms that lead to glimmers bed there for people who can't teleport.

"luckily I've got just the thing. Check this out." Holding out his self-made tracker pad. " I detected a piece of First Ones tech in the Whispering Woods. A pretty powerful one, too, by the size of these readings. If you find this one and bring it back, your mom is bound to be impressed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Did you forget I'm grounded?"

And then there is a knock on the door. "Glimmer? Are you in there?" Calls Glimmer's mother Angella.

"uhh!!!" Glimmer grabs bow and teleports him outside into the woods a bit too high up so he falls on his butt, then teleports herself back into her room in front of her door.

"Glimmer?" Calls Angella.

"Everything's fine, Mom."

"Is someone else in there? I heard voices." A worried voice from her mom.

Glimmer opens the door a crack to face her mom. "No one else is in here. Can you please just leave me alone?"

"I don't appreciate your tone right now, young lady." frowny face and hands on hips from mom.

"What tone?" Defensive Glimmer now, her mother had already annoyed her by grounding her and now was being all...mom like.

"That attitude of yours is never gonna help you know."

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow is still outside under the window playing with his tracker while he overhears Glimmer and her mom arguing.

"Mom, you always tell me what to do-" "You cannot act that way!" "And that's not fair!" this goes on a while. And then a slam of the door.

And then Glimmer teleports to Bows side. "I'm in"

And Bow has the smuggest smile on his face and pumps his fist.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sura meanwhile Is also out in the whispering woods looking for that sword. after a long while wandering the woods he sees a familiar white glow against the trees.

Permalink Mark Unread

Finally.

He heads over to the glow - somewhat cautious, of course. These woods aren't incapable of tricking him.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's the shining beautiful sword just like in his vision, standing there wrapped in roots holding it up, handle to the sky.

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow and Glimmer are also out in the woods searching.

"Uh! Please tell me we're not lost!" Glimmer brushes aside a branch looking thoroughly done with walking in spooky woods.

"No, this thing is just acting up. Looks like it's being overloaded by the tech's signal. We must be getting close!" Bow staring at the tracking pad.

"Uhh... I think it's that way." Glimmer pointing.

"What makes you say that? Oh, yeah. That'll do it." That big shiny glow coming from over there is a dead giveaway when bow looks up from his pad to see it.

Off they go towards it.

Permalink Mark Unread

He gets in sight of the sword. It's just like in his vision, so he goes to pull it out -

Permalink Mark Unread

"Bow, just let me lead the way, okay?" Glimmer stomping off ahead of Bow.

"The light came from the edge of the forest."

"Yes, you saw the light. It's this way."

"The trackpad says otherwise." He says tapping the trackpad.

"It's this way--"....And Glimmer spots some boy in a Horde uniform standing over the sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

So does Bow!

"HORDE SOLDIER" yells Glimmer.
"I SEE HER!" Yells Bow.

And then they both start yelling at the top of their lungs. Stealth? whos ever heard of that.

Bow draws his bow while glimmer runs for the sword they see the Horde soldier almost picking up, then remembering she can teleport and teleporting to the sword and teleporting a few feet away from where Sura and the sword were, holding the sword herself.

Permalink Mark Unread

He scowls and backs up, eyes darting. "That's mine. I found it, I have salvage rights."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Whispering Woods is under the rebellions protection Horde Spy!, Bow! Catch!" Throwing him the sword before the horde soldier can take it from her.

Bow drops his bow catching it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow is not the teleporter apparently -

Which means he's more vulnerable to being punched as Sura goes for the sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow runs the hell away while Glimmer teleports onto Suras back and grabs his hair and shoulder to hold on, She is not being very effective at disabling an enemy combatant, this is more what you'd do in a schoolyard brawl.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sura's a trained fighter. She can get thrown off him, after an elbow in her gut that'll hopefully force her to let go.

Permalink Mark Unread

Glimmer gets sent crashing to the ground. Bow is still running but constantly looking back to his friend all worried, he isn't moving that fast with all the turning and looking.

Permalink Mark Unread

He has bolas, they're a basic weapon and easy enough to carry -

He'll use them to trip up Bow.

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow gets sent to the ground with his legs bound and drops the sword in front of him. Glimmer is rushing up but there is still a bit of time before she gets there.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sura darts in, aiming for the sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

He touches it before Glimmer has time to try another teleport. And there is a flash of light and Sura blacks out.

Another vision happens to Sura while he is out. It looks like to Sura that he is just now in a strange place when before he was just touching the sword. he appears to be in a strange room made out of purple crystal with strange glowing lines that look like circuitry running through it.
"Hello Sura." The female voice from the last vision calls, and there is a purple woman in front of him the same purple woman from part of the last vision.

Permalink Mark Unread

" - Where is this?" he asks, cautious.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That isn't Important. My name is Light Hope. I have been waiting a long time for you, but I could not reach you until you forged your connection with the sword." Her voice is all echoey and dramatic in this shiny crystal room and she herself doesn't look like any type of person Sura has ever seen before. Being cautious makes sense.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Why me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The sword is meant for you. Etheria has need of you, Sura. Will you answer its call? Will you fight for the honor of Grayskull?" An image of the sword appears in front of Sura, hovering in front of him.

Permalink Mark Unread

"What does Etheria need? And what's Grayskull?"

It feels right, though, what the woman's saying. Of course that's his sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You will understand in time." And she and the room and the sword vanish in a flash of light. And Sura opens his eyes to find he has been tied up by the two rebellion kids from before.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ugh.

He scowls at them.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey he's awake!" Bow yells from literally a foot from Suras face.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're loud. Shut up."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hey you're the horde spy! I'm the one who tells you to shut up, how did you even make it this far into the whispering woods anyway?" Getting up in his face.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not a spy. And I walked."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, sure. You just so happened to find yourself in the Whispering Woods, like you just so happened to try and steal our sword." Trying to play the tough interrogator, hands on hips holding the sword possessively.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's my sword."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Whispering Woods is under the Rebellion's protection. You were lucky to make it as far as you did." Glares at Sura. "Come on, Bow. Let's get this spy back to Bright Moon where she can be interrogated properly. This is perfect. Not only do we First Ones tech for the rebellion, we've also captured a Horde spy. My mom's gonna be so impressed." Does a happy little squeal while clutching the sword, not the most intimidating look. "Now come on, on your feet." pointing at Sura.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Make me." Rebellion people are supposed to be soft. He doubts he'll lose a contest of wills.

Permalink Mark Unread

She pouts. "Prisoners are supposed to do as they're told." Giving him a little kick, more like a nudge, with her foot.

Bow gets his bow ready being a little more wary of a prisoner being defiant.

Permalink Mark Unread

"How about: you give me my sword back. We all leave, and pretend we never saw each other."

Permalink Mark Unread

"yeaaaaahhh no, gonna take you back to Bright moon to interrogate you. And the First one's tech was in our forest so it's ours. You horde soldiers don't even take prisoners so I don't see what you have to complain about. Now get up you lazy butt." Giving him another little kick in the rump to get him up.

Bow has an arrow nocked but not drawn just in case.

Permalink Mark Unread

He raises an eyebrow at them. Stays silent.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Look we'd rather take you prisoner than have a fight to the death that you'll lose. Go with us pleeeeease." Punctuating his polite request by drawing his bow, that is one the sharp non-trick arrows on the bow too.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Bow!" Looking shocked her nice friendly best friend would threaten someone like that.

Permalink Mark Unread

He stands. Slowly.

Apparently one of them has a spine. Interesting.

Permalink Mark Unread

Glimmer leads the way back to Bright Moon for a while until Bow starts getting nervous.

"You positive we're going the right way, Glimmer?" gripping his bow a little tighter.

"I know what I'm doing, Bow. Can you please just trust me for once?"

"You know I always trust you, but I'm starting to get a little freaked out. I mean, I pretty much grew up in these woods and I've never even seen this part of them. I've heard stories about weird stuff out here." Bow doesn't recognize any of this scenery, Is the forest changing on them? It was usually pretty good about not messing with bright moon forces and waylaying the Horde.

"It's fine, okay? Just let me figure this out." Glimmer snaps back all defensive about her leadership skills being questioned again.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay! Touchy." He turns to Sura. "Sorry about her. Usually she's really nice. Not much for talking, huh?" Because of course Bow is trying to befriend the prisoner he threatened just a little while ago.

Permalink Mark Unread

He shrugs. "It's effort." He's still keeping an eye out for escape routes - he'll have to be more careful with an actually trained soldier around. He pauses, then: "I don't know anyone nice to their enemies."

Permalink Mark Unread

"No harm in being nice is there? plus you aren't my personal enemy you just happen to be on the other side, granted your side does horrible horrible things but I doubt you were there for most of them seeing as how you can't be older than I am." He still has his bow in hand but he does look pretty cheerful considering the situation.

Glimmer scowls, in her opinion just because this Horde spy might not have participated in said horrible things doesn't make them not evil for being on that side.

Permalink Mark Unread

He nods. "I'm still not allowed to leave the base." Which stings. His older sister had been an acting Force Captain by now...

Permalink Mark Unread

"Last time I checked the Whispering Woods wasn't a horde base..." questioning look with a raised eyebrow, there was a story here and he wanted to know it.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I had a vision of the sword. My sister's covering for me." Sakura's kind of his sister in the same way Chira is, and he recognizes the Rebellion people are more likely to drop their guard if they humanize him.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah right you had a vision of the sword, this is first one's tech and it was in the Whispering Woods. And you're with the Horde" She scoffs. "If anyone was going to have a vision of this sword it would be a princess."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Glimmer! be chill, leave being mean to when he's being interrogated back at base." Does an apologetic shrug at Sura. "So what's having a sister like? I guess me and Glimmer are as close as siblings but we are more BFFs you know?"

Permalink Mark Unread

He shrugs. "I have one left. A bit younger than me. She teases me a lot. My older sister was more protective."

Permalink Mark Unread

One left implies something...not good. Bow goes all quiet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eventually, the group comes across a burn out village, burnt out husks of buildings and Horde blaster scorch marks still visible on the ground and crumbling walls even though it's been long enough for nature to have removed the corpses that must have been here.

Glimmer whimpers when she sees the sight.

Permalink Mark Unread

He's heard about the aftermath of battles before. He hasn't seen it. He goes sort of very still.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Destroying peaceful villages, that's what the Horde does." She bends over to pick up a worn children's toy from the ash. wiping it clean with her thumb.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm aware." It's part of why he's privately planning to kill Hordak, eventually.

Permalink Mark Unread

"AND YET!" And she points an accusing finger at the red Horde uniform he is wearing.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Defectors and cowards are killed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You aren't allowed out of the base you said and are in fact right now out of the base, doesn't that make YOU a defector?" Sneering angrily.

Permalink Mark Unread

"If I get caught."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, you got caught. By us. You're a heartless destroyer, just like all the rest of your people."

Glimmer teleports off in a huff.

...

And then teleports back looking super panicked. "There's something out there. Something big!!!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"How big?" And then the ground shakes hard enough to topple them off their feet and a HUGE bug monster crawls out of the ground!

"So, pretty big then."

Permalink Mark Unread

The bug monster rushes Glimmer and she dodges a swipe of its front leg claw (like a praying mantises claw almost) by teleporting onto its face and blasting its eyes with bright sparkles to blind it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Sura dodges back. "Untie me so I can help!"

He's been working on the binds and can probably get them loose -

Permalink Mark Unread

Glimmer ignores Sura and teleports off the bug monsters face, shooting balls of sparkles at it while screaming at the top of her lungs. And then the monster swipes her away and she slams into a tree, hard. Dropping the sword by Sura.

The bug monster rushes after her.

Permalink Mark Unread

"GLIMMER!" Bow shoots one of his rope arrows around the bugs head horn and holding it taught to try and keep it away from her. struggling to hold back something so much bigger than him.

Permalink Mark Unread

He darts for the sword, cuts his bindings on its blade, and picks it up, then spins, looking for a weak point.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's covered in shell and while there are gaps in the joints they are very well protected overall, its eyes are pretty big and exposed but the reflection off of them looks like a hard surface like glass rather than gooey eyeballs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eyes should at least distract it -

He goes for those.

He's never wielded a sword quite this large, but he's trained in how to use them -

Permalink Mark Unread

But something -

The sword's not going to work, not like this.

Instinctively, he thrusts it towards the sky -

"For the honor of Grayskull!"

His voice is higher, he can see from higher up -

The sword fits in his hands. Everything else - the skirt he's now apparently wearing included - can fall behind as he fights.

Permalink Mark Unread

As Sura transforms in a flash of light, he gets a vision of a portal over a field and a babies voice crying.

As soon as Sura finishes transforming into a 7-foot tall Amazonian warrior holding a magic sword. The bug monster's spines retract and it backs away from them, seemingly pacified simply just by Sura's presence.

Sura can still hack it to bits if he wants, but it's not threatening them at all now.

Permalink Mark Unread

He won't pursue it, but he will keep menacing it until it goes away entirely.

Permalink Mark Unread

It crawls off back into the undergrowth not actually seeming to react to Sura waving his sword around it's just not interested in them anymore, looks a lot less scary with all its pointy spines retracted.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Glimmer?"

"Yeah I see her Bow, or...him"

"Okay, I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me seeing the prisoner turn into a SWORD PRINCESS!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"HOW DID YOU TURN INTO A PRINCESS?!? THAT WAS AMAZING!" There are many a happy excited squeal coming from Bow.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I told you it was my sword."

Permalink Mark Unread

And then -

He doesn't feel like he's in danger anymore, nor like he needs to protect the idiot rebels who captured him.

He shimmers, and suddenly he's a lot shorter and the sword's a lot heavier.

He grunts, annoyed now.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't care how he did it. We just have to make sure he never does it again!" Teleporting up to Sura and grabbing at the sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

Annndddd now the bug is back! Apparently, Sura being a giant sword lady was what was keeping the bug monster pacified. It barrels into all three of them throwing them down a slope. The group tumbles down the slope until they stop in front of a big vine-covered temple.
Sura still has the sword, but Glimmer is too winded by the tumble to care right now, and Bow thinks the prisoner is alright in his book for saving them from the bug the first time and being a princess.

Permalink Mark Unread

He scrambles away from the other two once he lands.

...This does not look like rebellion architecture.

Permalink Mark Unread

"What is this place?" Glimmer stares up at the roughly pyramidal temple.

"No idea, but in there's gotta be better than out here." Bow runs up to whats clearly a door and slams against it ineffectually with a thump.

Permalink Mark Unread

He follows, furrowing his brow at the writing. "Is it locked?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you both grab on I can teleport us inside!" Yes, even the horde soldier gets to be saved, she isn't going to leave him to be eaten by a monster.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Glimmer, no! You've never teleported three people before." When glimmer overstresses her magic it ends...badly. Bow doesn't want Glimmer to hurt herself trying.

"Do you have a better idea?" She snaps back.

The ground rumbles and the roar of the bug monster can be heard, it's not done with them yet! They can see it slowly pick its way down the slope towards them, having to be careful because of its size.

Permalink Mark Unread

"The writing on the door - might be a clue to opening it - "

It's a long shot, but...

He also tries flinging himself back in the mindset he'd been in earlier. It's tricky, doesn't really work just yet - does he need to see someone injured? -

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's first one's writing, nobody can read that writing without like a zillion degrees. now hurry up and grab on if you don't want to be bug food!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"What? It says 'Eternia' - "

Permalink Mark Unread

And the door rumbles open.

"OH COME ON!" Glimmer throws up her hands in frustration. First, the prisoner can transform into a really tall sword princess and now he can read first ones writing?!

They all hurry inside, the bug can't get in the door opening it is too small. Safe for now but the only way on is inward.

Permalink Mark Unread

After they've all walked down the hallway a while...

"So, Horde soldier, have you always been able to read First One's writing?" Bow asks casually.

"Wanna tell us what exactly is going on here?" Glimmer staring at the prisoner who still had the magic princess sword and was not tied up in any way. This was so weird to be casually walking with them.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I haven't seen it before. And I had a vision of the sword, and a glowing woman. Light Hope. She said the sword was mine, and Etheria needed me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That is so cool! You got like an actual call to adventure! You get to be a princess! why don't I get to be a princess? literally everyone I know is a princess even the horde soldier! it's unfair." Bow is starting to ramble a little bit, its a stress response and he was just almost eaten by a big bug. Twice.

Permalink Mark Unread

Glimmer doesn't look like she believes Sura but doesn't say anything, he did just save them. She's not a jerk, even if that boy is still literally part of the evil horde.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not royalty."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You transformed into a tall warrior lady wearing a tiara using a magic sword that radiates the signals of first one's tech. plus like Netossa and Spinerella are princesses that we know and they don't rule anyone. Glimmer do they rule anyone?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No." And Glimmer keeps on walking.

Permalink Mark Unread

After they walk for a while with Glimmer in front, Bow sidles up to Sura.  "Thanks for saving us anyway. I'm Bow, by the way."

Permalink Mark Unread

He shrugs. "I'm Sura."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Neat." Bow smiles at Sura, then turns to Glimmer.

"Hey, Glimmer where are we going? Where is this?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"uhh... Look at these carvings. I think this might be a First One's ruin."

Permalink Mark Unread

He pokes one on the off chance it causes another weird vision.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nope, no vision.

"How do we even get out of here with the bug blocking the entrance." Glimmer muses.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It'd be dumb if they only had one exit."

Permalink Mark Unread

So they wander the halls a while longer. “It'll take forever to find a way out at this rate.” Bow complains “Hey! Wanna turn on some lights, Sura?”

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you know how?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thought you would know how? You knew how to open the door. Maybe there's a magic word. Ooh, what's the First Ones' word for "lights"?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I just read it..."

Though does he know the First One's word for light?

Permalink Mark Unread

Nope, not unless It’s written on the walls and no convenient text looking engravings are on this stretch of spooky hallway.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay everyone, stand back!" And glimmer conjures a ball of sparkles for light and is about to do more magic when...

Permalink Mark Unread

Bow puts his hand on Glimmer's shoulder.  "Uh, Glimmer? Maybe you should take it easy. We're a long way from Bright Moon. It'll be a while until you can recharge."

Permalink Mark Unread

"BOW!"

Permalink Mark Unread

He doesn't really have much to say to that, except, "Caution's good. And the - other me? Might... Know something, or just... Glow." He shrugs, uncomfortable. "I don't know how to - " Vague wavy hand - the one not still holding his sword.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm fine I can handle it Bow. Now stand back." And she concentrates on the glowing ball in her hand. It flickers and grows until with a grunt and a yell she launches it upwards where it lights up the whole room. Glimmer does sort of collapse a little after this effort but regains her composure quickly.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Wow. Are you okay?" Looking worried at his best friend.

"I'm fine, Bow." Brushing him off and acting all tough despite the drain that light ball took out of her.

Bow takes a look at the lit-up room. It's all built in pretty purple and white crystals with big pillars and a very high ceiling.
There's a mural with figures on it in coloured crystal, one looks very familiar to him. "Oh hey! That's you!" He says to Sura.

"The other me?" he asks, to clarify, since he doesn't much look like a blond Amazonian warrior right now.

"Yeah that one, you didn't have a mirror handy. So that is what you'd look like if you were her and were glass triangles." He takes a closer look around the room paying attention to more than the super obvious pretty stained glass window.

At floor level above a stone pedestal thing is some writing. "Ohhh look an inscription. You're magic right? You can read a language a thousand years dead. What's it say?"

Glimmer is just being grumpy at Bow being friendly with the enemy soldier.

Glowing lines show up on the pedestal and spread out around the whole room. Lighting up along the edges of the crystal pillars and the lines in the floor until the whole cavernous room is lit up with glowing lines.

And then the air shimmers and there is a translucent person standing there! "Greetings administrator." It says. It is the figure of a woman whose robes have the same glowing lines as the architecture, she seems to go all blocky and fuzzy for a split second while she talks. She looks a little like the training simulation images Sura trained with back in the Fright Zone.

" - Greetings?" If it's a voice command interface...
