This thread is for generically potentially useful stuff.

Here are genomes for some of my favorite algae strains, the Modern Lojban 5.3.6 Dictionary and Usage Guide, the Beginner's Guide to Glass Lenses, and Basic Hygiene from Alcohol to Wood Ash.

Additionally, my more mercantile contacts are usually pretty interested in buying [local reproduction rights to] art. I can offer a wide variety of media in exchange. I have plenty of stuff that doesn't reference high technology, such as "Henry V", the script of a play about an ancient monarch. (Consider this a free sample.)

Fascinating, our respective variants of Lojban have evolved in slightly different ways. I suppose ours is heavily influenced by the fact that it's used almost exclusively for scientific conversations.

I'll offer a set of genomes for nutritious crops. I'm also offering a database of mathematics papers and my world's Modern Lojban 7.2.1 Dictionary and Usage Guide

… I'm curious about your local art, @.iunom., if you sell reproduction rights to it. Do you mean the rights to be able to produce copies of it (eg duplicating songs on a technological device or manually copying paintings) or – is it perhaps species of creature as art?

Dante, the rights to produce copies. There are some species of art-like genetically engineered creature, but those are mostly recent enough that they have clear designers who are not me, and also I'd feel fairly uncomfortable distributing living beings like that, for a variety of reasons.

In the interests of full disclosure, the works I can offer you are all freely accessible to the vast majority of people within my universe. Also, thanks for the crop genomes. Have a wide variety of grains, a guide to more efficient photosynthesis, Blackwater to Black Soil: Recycling nutrients in closed environments, and ... I would really like to give you all the nonmilitary portions of the Selkie Genetic Compendium, but that's not mine to distribute and I'm not sure it's really safe to tell them about all this.

Interesting, I passed on the biology papers to our biology department. They're really happy. After some debate, the physics department has put together Simple sublayer experiments and Simple threadwork experiments to test whether your universes share some of our less abusable physics. It should probably noted that these simple experiments require moderately large particle colliders and wide spectrum detectors of a couple types, so simple is a relative term. The needed hardware for practical uses can be miniaturized with sufficiently advanced nanotech though.

I am posting a set of files representing the state of the art in Terran weather prediction based on satellite readings and sharply limited quantities of ground data. Additionally, here is a guide to local weather prediction using simple observations and easy-to-construct tools. I don't know how much this applies to non-Earth planets. For instance, you may not have some of the insect species that the second guide mentions. I would much appreciate it if anyone else with weather prediction methods would post theirs, regardless of tech level.

Oh, and thank you to Riley for the physics papers. I think we would have noticed this stuff if it held here, and I don't have my own particle collider, but I'll keep an eye out for a chance to easily test this.

An overview of the Recent tends in meteorology is available, but it doesn't focus as much on Earth anymore. We disrupt hurricanes and tornadoes before they build too much strength with bobblers and we moderate flooding and drought with other methods so weather prediction is less important.

Lucky you.

Earth is a paradise, a monument, and a mausoleum. It took a long time to put something approaching the old ecosystems back together after the plagues, but now that we've done it we do our best to keep it as nice as we can.

I'm sorry, that was an insensitive comment. My condolences.

.iunom. I didn't live through the Trials but I was born shortly after them. One of my forks helped with the ecosystem reconstruction project. It's not something I'm that sensitive about but it's one of those things that you hear over and over again in school. Advanced technology improves things in the long run but it has a cost.

I'm grass! Hi!

I would be interested in exchanging art with anyone whose world's is different from mine.

Art I can do. What kinds of art?

The Archive has more art than could be enjoyed in a million years of individual attention. Perhaps you could be more specific about which type you hope to obtain?

Whatever is best.

Drama is particularly good.

Alright, here is a dramatic book movie song and the script for a play. Enjoy your drama.

Thank you!

I'm happy to recommend you some art from my world in return, if you would like.

Do you like architecture? Landscapes? Have some paintings of the Cavern of Rost

Those are extraordinarily beautiful. Thank you.

You're welcome! My sister made it. Well, the cavern, not the paintings. Well, technically she just excavated an existing cavern, but the light in the ceiling and the pretty buildings, those're all her.

Nobody would really get very far trying to sell the rights to All Rights Reversed: A Copyleft Opera so I'm just going to post it.

All recommendations would be appreciated, although I am from a Solar System (uh, as opposed to the general term "planetary system", it has four rocky planets named Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, an asteroid belt, and four gas giants named Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune) and so we already probably have Shakespeare and lots of other people in common.
