So they all file into Norma's car—Sadde makes sure to sit beside Theo so he can hold Theo's hand and rest his head on Theo's shoulder—and go.
They do! It's a spacious two-story house with a nice living room and enough space and privacy in the back.
And a wooden practice dummy waiting there. My, it's almost like Norma'd been expecting this to happen. Sadde snorts when he sees this.
Eva looks at it and raises an eyebrow. "So how much were you expecting to find me in Sunnydale, then?"
"Yes. We knew the previous Slayer had died, so some of the witches employed by the Council figured it out."
"Is this a particularly common type of demon? Anything in particular I should possibly do to try to avoid it?"
"They're not very common, no. It's not particularly intelligent, it just—got lucky. According to the girl's Watcher at the time."
"And my job," she explains, "is making sure luck has nothing to do with your encounters with demons."
"I would appreciate that very much," says Eva. "If I could just not die for a while, that'd be wonderful."
