"Oooh fuck yes, definitely looking forward to that. Also loving the fluid movement. It's so fucking real."

"It is. It's great. Oh, if realism is something you want a lot, there are filters you can turn off in the interface. There's usually good reasons for them but you can make your own decisions."

Y'know what? Sure. She'll look at these filters. Interface, what are your filters labeled?

There's a decent selection of options.

Sensory filtering:

Gore options:
- Hemophobe (Rather than seeing blood or gore you will see fluids in a less concerning color, rather than seeing injuries you will instead see discolored areas of skin with text to indicate injury severity.)
- Surface Damage (Deep injuries will be depicted as surface damage without internal details. Some severe injuries will be accompanied by text to indicate their severity.)
- Full realism (All injuries will be depicted fully realistically.)

Pain options:
- None (You will not experience pain. Painful sensations will be replaced with a vibrating feeling with an intensity based on the severity of the pain you would otherwise experience.)
- Minimal (Your pain will be capped to a minimal level, comparable to what you would expect from surface level injuries. Warning: This may result in exacerbating injuries due to misunderstanding their severity.)
- Standard (Your pain will be capped at a high threshold comparable to the pain of broken bones. You are much less likely to black or white out due to excessive pain or injury.)
- Full (You will experience fully realistic pain in all circumstances.)

Sexuality options:
- Child Safe (Your body will not have erogenous zones and certain actions like the insertion of anything into your orifices will be impossible under most circumstances. Sexual actions occurring around you will be automatically censored.)
- Teen safe (People may only touch you in sexual ways with your approval, approval may be withdrawn at any time. Sexual actions occurring around you outside of private spaces will be automatically censored.)
- Standard (While in safe zones and outside of private spaces sexual actions occurring around you will be automatically censored. In most circumstances actions which would damage your underwear instead do not preserving some modesty.)
- Personal Modesty (In most circumstances actions which would damage your underwear instead do not preserving some modesty. None of your sensory experience is filtered for sexual content.)
- No Filtering (Your underwear can be damages as easily as any other clothing. None of your sensory experience is filtered for sexual content.)

Personal Space options:
- Specific persons (While in safe spaces only people on a personal allow list may touch you directly or indirectly. This also retains the ability described in the Standard option.)
- Standard (While in safe zones you may force anyone in direct or indirect physical contact with you to be at least ten centimeters away from you. If this would render them unable to move freely you will be forced away from them instead. Using this ability forfeits any active combat contest you are participating in.)
- No Enforcement (You have no special means to prevent unwanted touch)

"Okay these filter options are fucking awesome. Definitely tweaking some of these."

Gore to full, pain stays the same for now (because even she has some limits, and she doesn't wanna sign her headmates up for more than they bargained for), sexuality to personal modesty pending discussion with headmates, and how quick is it to change the personal space setting? Not very, but enough that they won't mind doing it by hand on switches in safe areas. Okay. That goes to specific person mode, the others can change it back.

"Oh fuck, the personal space option is going to make my life so much easier," she comments with a relieved sigh as she sets that option.

"I'm glad I helped. The whole personal forcefield thing is neat. And it's such a clear signal about when people don't want to be touched."

She nods, laughing with the release of having to worry about that. "It's such a fucking load off."

She looks over at the girl. "What's your name, by the way?"

"I'm Emily. You?"

They're trying to find more safe people to be out to, yeah? So she can introduce herself rather than with Sable's name for singlet-masking.

"Hailey."

"It's nice to meet you. What have you been up to so far?"

"Tried the ropes a bit, claimed an apartment, did a bit of sword practice," she holds up her sheathed blade. "Thinking about putting in some range time after the food's done. What about you?"

"I've mostly been getting used to having my stats reset. Lots of time in the ropes jungle and a bit of swimming. In the beta I didn't bother with an apartment until I had a bunch more stuff and it worked fine so I haven't gotten one yet."

"Hah, fair enough," she laughs. "Where d'you sleep until then?"

"I either camped in the outskirts or I just slept in one of the treehouses in the jungle. At least in the beta there were protections when you were logged out and I mostly slept out of game."

"That makes sense. Probably gonna spend as much time logged in as we can, though. Body outside ain't nearly as comfy."

"Oh, you're a customizer. There were a bunch of customizers in the beta and most of them slept in game like that. I like being in game because even with base stats I'm a bit stronger and I can do more but otherwise I'm mostly the same inside and out."

"Yeah, wasn't gonna pass up the opportunity to live in the body w—I want as close to full-time as possible. What sorta fighting style did you go for in beta?"

"I think most people went for a mix of ranged and melee just to try everything out but Melee is a lot of fun once your stats are good enough so that's what I did when I could. It doesn't really work for fighting people though. Well, not unless you find rare items like personal cloaks and you can usually only get those by fighting through the right Yuan'Ti base. So I focused more on the monster side of things."

"That makes sense," she replies with a grin, enjoying the thought of getting into a thrilling fight with a monster. "Honestly sounds like a lot of fun. What're the Yuan'Ti like?"

"They have good and bad points, their leaders claim to be gods and they have this whole caste system. Part of the backstory is that humans actually killed the sun emperor so they're in the middle of some sort of civil war as they try to decide who will be the next empire. You can steal weapons and armor from them and try to do a whole false flag thing if you're into that."

"The kinda icky part is that they're actually these weird snake things like the Yeerks from Animorphs and they can possess people. Player characters are immune because of the blessing stuff but there's ways to intentionally let yourself get possessed. It wasn't very fun but apparently if you meet the rebel faction and you let yourself get possessed by one of them you have more control and it's more a sharing your body situation. They're also one of the ways to get someone unpossessed."

She barks a laugh. "Well they sound enjoyably spooky. Glad it's not a risk for us at least. Any weapon types that are just a bad idea?"

"As for things you can get in Sanctuary, mostly throwing weapons. They're heavy to carry and a pain to get more of. More broadly the Yuan'ti soliders have this awful magic weapon. It deals a lot of damage but it's heavy, hard to aim and it fires slowly."
