The next day, as with every day, students must attend homeroom.
"I'm not sure I have anything that fits."
He manages to scrounge up a t-shirt and sweatpants.
Juliet changes into them quickly. They do not fit well at all and she laughs quietly.
"Do I look ridiculous?"
She accepts the kiss with a smile and then sits down on his bed.
"This is not how I expected this night to go."
“I’d want people to believe me. And honestly, being part of a supernatural romance novel is one of the better things to happen to me this week.”
She laughs and lies down on her back.
"Convincing my dad to let me go to high school was the best decision ever."
She snuggles up close to him, closes her eyes and whispers back.
"Good thing I have a brilliant and dutiful boyfriend to help me."
Her brilliant and dutiful boyfriend probably agrees, but it’s hard to tell when he nods off instead of responding.
Juliet follows suit quickly, but not before huddling as close to him as possible.
Then sleep.
Then wake!
She most likely wakes up before Matt, since he's still asleep well after his alarm goes off.
She turns the alarm off and then spends some time just looking at him.
And also listening. Are his parents awake?
His parents are awake!
They're downstairs, though, and show no signs of disturbing them.
Juliet will let him sleep for a bit longer then and take the time to inspect his room in more detail.
The room contains a variety of posters. Gruesome photographs: of women in distress, dead animals, and of shadows. These are interspersed with comic book posters, featuring Spiderman and the Flash, by and large.
Photography equipment takes up most of the floor and desk space, although there's also room made for a framed photo of him and another boy, with curly hair.
Women in distress is not something she'd have in her room, but she can see the artistic appeal.
Does she recognize the curly haired boy? She's never really met anyone Matt would call a friend.
"I'm glad. You should probably sneak out the window, though. I'm not sure what they'll do if they see you."
"Full moon, obviously, yes. Silver, no. Wolfsbane is painful, weakens us and can kill. I can hear your heart beating and your blood rushing through your veins. You're parents are in the kitchen and are... talking about furniture?" She makes an amused face. "I heal quickly. Super strength... I can take away someones pain. Physical pain. And sometimes I can tell when people are lying."
