D'aww.

She gives a friendly greeting yip, and hops up next to him and inserts herself in a proper snuggling location.

"Good morning!" Pet pet. "Would you like breakfast?"

Affirmative happy bark!

He unsprawls enough that he can reach over and pull a small table closer to the couch, and then appears some plates of food on it, and then re-sprawls and goes back to his book.

She gives him an affectionate nose, then hops into reach of the table and begins eating. Dainty as ever.

She is the most charming of foxes.

Yes. Though, to be fair, she does have a massive advantage of intelligence and human context. So. It'd be kind of pathetic if she lost out to a completely ordinary fox.

She finishes eating, then hops back over to the Optimal Snuggling Position, where she can snuggle him and read.

He pets her and vanishes the plates.

Excellent. Then they shall snuggle, and she shall read over his shoulder. And probably not have any idea what the book is talking about.

Yep, it's another one of those unreasonably obscure wizard books.

How did she guess.

She'll try to understand anyway, at least for now. If she gets bored she can go back to exploring the tower.

This one is actually even less comprehensible than the one about life magic, because it's mainly about ritual magic and assumes the reader has been studying ritual magic for at least three years.

Oh. Oh wow. Oh, yes, she has no idea what the heck it's talking about. At. At all. Okay.

She's just. She's just going to stop reading that entirely in favor of snuggling him. Snuuuuggle.

Pet pet.

Aww. Yes, she can stick around for a little while for scritches. They're pretty great.

Soft fox!!!

She is! And he's comfortable to snuggle and scritches are great!

..… Eventually she does get bored, though. Hm. She noses his book and makes a little yip.

"Hmm?"

Oh, that reminds him that there are no letters on the floor in this room. He flicks his fingers and appears some.

Aaaugh she guesses she'll exit snuggles just for the sake of communication. If she has to. He gets an affectionate nose, and then she hops off him to go spell out, Can I have a book?

"Oh! Sure."

He pulls a book out of thin air: a collection of southern folk tales.

She hops back onto the couch and gives him yet another affectionate nose, because it's not like she has a large set of communcation options here. Then she carefully opens the book (so as not to damage it) and begins reading.

Snuggles can resume! And she is not bored, hooray!

Cozy companionable reading!

Yes! Turning the pages on her own is a little tricky, but she manages okay. Without horribly mangling the book, even.

She's content to stay like this for a while.

Eventually he summons lunch.

Lunch!

Is he the type to eat while reading, or can she attempt to question him about his progress on the book? She's curious!
