"I needed him to know it was serious, I thought I should just show him how easy it is for us to get anywhere we want to."

"The majority of people wouldn't be more cooperative when their girlfriends are threatened like that. There is even an argument to be made where you shouldn't cave in to that kind of pressure, because it only reassures whoever is causing it to use it as source of power in the future."

"And the alpha could use that! These are all threats someone who wanted to hurt him would follow through on!"

"Yes, but even if they are a practical example of what the alpha could do. The end result when you do it is not likely Scott wanting to collaborate to you and your goals. The end result is Scott feeling threatened and being in the look out to minimize the ways you can influence his life in ways he disapproves of. Even if what you want is important."

"You could have just talked to me like a normal person!"

"I do have to agree with Scott here."

"Fine. I'm sorry, I did this all wrong, but I was trying to help."

Stiles claps mockingly.

"Okay, moving on. How does learning to control works and how long it takes? Where in the scale of 'fine after a couple of days' and 'he will struggle with this for years and years' are we talking about? How can we help besides what we already doing?"

"If he puts in the work, it should only take a few days."

"You already told me about anchors. What else is there to know?"

"You can't use a person as an anchor. Can't you see how unstable that is?"

"No, I can't. I think it can work for me."

He scowls.

"What are anchors? Why a person as an anchor would be unstable?"

"Anchors keep them from transforming uncontrollably."

"An anchor should be internal; an emotion or a memory. A person is unreliable because you can't control yourself, you need someone else to do it for you."

"I see. Scott, why did you pick a person then?"

"I didn't pick her, it just happened. What does this have to with me learning control, anyway? It's working, obviously he doesn't know what he's talking about."

"...It is in fact not-obvious if he doesn't know. Derek, how long have you been a werewolf? Or rather, where did you learn the anchor trick?"

"I've been a werewolf my entire life, and if you don't want my help, that's fine, Scott. When all of your friends die, don't come running to me."

He attempts to storm off, but can't actually figure out how to leave.

Felix does not literally thinks Scott was wise ignoring Derek's advice, but wow, he can see Derek doesn't make it easy.

"Derek, we can conduct you outside no problem. Do you mind if one of us asks questions on the way out?"

"No, I don't mind."

Fenris accompanies Derek.

"Would you mind if we contacted you to ask werewolf-related questions in the future? I think we have a easier time helping Scott."

When they are out of the room, Felix starts saying "Okay, Scott. I get that Derek is... not the most diplomatic person, but I'm not entirely sure is wise to outright ignore him. Why haven't you tried to find another anchor?"
