Aliveth has to bite back the automatic snarl at the thought of the universe being unpleasant at her children. If it touches the mere concept of her children with its arbitrary, selfish and brutally tyrannical desires, Aliveth will just have to figure out how to become immortal so she can be queen forever so that she can definitely be there when her magic's gained enough power to rip Milan's universe to its component parts to remake it into something shaped similarly but with an iota of sense.

But this is not the sort of thing she's going to say to Milan. Milan has clearly been through enough.

"Right," she says, instead, her voice still containing a bit of growl that she didn't intend to add to it. "Okay. And for an old established magic like my family's that has the habit of dealing in meddling with foreign magic, I'd say that is something of a chance."

"I... wouldn't be eager to try it, but yes."

"Right, yes, there is absolutely no rush and wow that love potion's great at making my emotions do charming little gigs for it, that's fantastic."

...yeah, still not asking.

"Ugh." She snuggles him, grumpily, correcting their course a bit now that she's less angry. "That helped, thank you, it's probably hard to tell because now I'm just upset with a number of things, but it did."

"Glad I could help," he says sincerely.

Well when he smiles at her like that she just can't stay grumpy, can she.

"I am so atrociously in love with you," she informs him, matter of factly.

"Yes, so I've heard," he says wryly. "I'm less flattered than I could be, since there's a love potion involved."

She laughs.

"Yeah, fair enough. But for what it's worth, I don't feel like I'm enamored with traits that I would dislike without the potion. It's all qualities I could see myself finding attractive without any mind control at all. The real kicker is the way it's making me be in love with you, which I don't like at all."

"Well, in that case I am flattered after all. But would still strongly prefer to find a cure for the love potion."

"I agree wholeheartedly, and - to be honest, kind of upset that we couldn't just - meet? Without the love potion?"

"...Yeah. Me too."

"I would have liked you," she murmurs sadly.

"Yeah."

"If you'd been ten seconds earlier... But then, if you'd been ten seconds later, I'd be much worse off. So I suppose I have no reason to complain."

"...yeah," he sighs.

"Not your fault. Just - kind of a terrible situation, really."

"I don't like terrible situations. They activate all the wrong instincts in me."

Aliveth - has opinions, there, but she swallows them.

Snuggle. "This is a solvable terrible situation, though," is what she says instead.

"So I most sincerely hope!"

"It's definitely possible to fall in love while under the effects of a love potion. Even if it doesn't - feel like I can right now. There was a king of Kivenne that got love potioned, and he got out of it. ... After a few years, but."

"Well, that's heartening."

"Yeah. Apparently my magic tried to figure out a way to brute force it, couldn't manage it, and then started trying to set him up with his advisor when it figured out a way to end it. I think that was the only time in history that it's meddled in someone's love life. Or the only time anyone bothered to record."

"That... sounds sort of adorable actually. And I continue to be impressed with your family's magic."

Giggle. "I feel that it'll be terribly disappointed if you're ever not impressed with it, at this rate."
