Hello, he says to Haemi.

He wonders what the boxes on the shelf are at his guides. They look neat and slightly important.

"They're games! We can show them to you when you're not about to go to bed; they'd take a while to introduce," says Tish.

...Ooh. 'Games' is a bit of a strange concept but it does sound fun.

Tomorrow!

"Yup!"

The parlor has a doorway down to a storage basement but they don't go down there. Here's the dining room! It has thirty chairs. "We usually eat in a smaller nook; this is for when we have company," says Tish.

He doesn't see why. It's kind of impressive. He wants to know what's behind that door.

"That's where we keep things we won't use for a while, like seasonal clothes, and things Kadta uses and we don't, like the vacuum."

That makes perfect sense. All your things have to go somewhere and the less important ones can go out of sight as long as you still know where they are.

The dining room has a door to the kitchen! Tish and Haemi usually aren't in here but they can show the baby. There's ovens and a stove and a walk-in fridge and a freezer and a big pantry and cupboards full of kitchen implements. They had dinner while he was napping in the garden and the cook has gone home but if he wants a snack here's where they're keeping his food in the fridge.

He could probably eat like five times as much as he did before! But doesn't need to right now. The kitchen things are all interesting and he wonders how they work, but sleeeeepy.

"Do you want to go to your room next and finish the tour in the morning?"

That sounds good. He is curious about everything but is so tired.

Up the stairs in the atrium is a wraparound corridor, railing looking down on the atrium on the inside curve and doors out. This door is his room! It has an ensuite bathroom, a bed that will be big enough for him for a while, and a big shallow bowl full of assorted shiny objects ranging from artistic glass marbles and beads to souvenir silver knicknacks and a couple old fashioned coins and a small gold spoon. They know Draak like shiny stuff so while he's been incubating they threw some stuff together!

He's going to try sleeping in the bed but not liking soft surfaces might be some kind of Draak instinct but maybe he will get used to it.

Ooooh. Those things are definitely shiny! He likes them a lot. So they should take them away and make him earn or find them! Because as much as he wants to just have it all he thinks you should earn your Treasure. ...Well, they should take most of them, he particularly likes this one coin.

...okay, they can hide them while he sleeps and do a treasure hunt and keep some back for, uh, accomplishing educational goals? And the coin can stay.

Having shiny things is really nice but my Creators told me the point of getting Treasure isn't to have Treasure, but that getting it is hard and proves you are strong or smart. That's why.

"Okay! Sleep well," says Tish, and they let themselves out.

He rearranges pillows and blankets with a little difficulty and nibbles lightly on the coin a bit and is soon fast asleep, curled up in a little nest of bedding, coin resting between his chin and the tip of his tail. He sleeps pretty soundly.

Meanwhile, Toama has vanished into the forest for several hours and comes back with some small scratches on one of her arms - wings - and her head feathers rather rumpled. She's moving just a little bit slower and has a pretty rock in her mouth.

"- hello," says Pep. "What happened to you?"

I fell out of a tree and found a nice rock!

"That is a nice rock! What are you going to do with it?"

Keep it and have it because it's pretty!

"Where will you put it?"

I didn't think that far ahead. Maybe I will bury it somewhere until I decide.

"We could get you a box, if you like."

If I had a den I would put it there. Actually I don't know where I'm going to sleep but I thought it would be here somewhere. And now that I thought of it I really want to bury it! So nobody else finds it!
