It is a few hours into a projected 168 of them. Haru is trying to get back to sleep while his mother holds him, because 168 hours is going to feel a lot longer if he can't figure out how to sleep while lonelier than ought to be humanly possible.
Suddenly not having his mother holding him is certainly a way to ruin the attempt.
Ari sits through the whole! Thing! And she thinks the main couple is pretty cute.
"Are you gonna want dinner soonish? It'll take me a while to do errands first."
Snuggle. "So what were you going to be doing before a problems guy appeared, what'm I interrupting?"
"Reports. Much less of an interruption than it would be with something less data-related and more physical; I was already going to be working here regardless."
"Ah heck, classified information, my secret super-weakness. Ugh. What do you do in your spare time, then."
"Well, maybe awakening'll cure my dyspraxia and I'll have a consolation prize for never being able to try out my magic powers safely in the form of learning to dance. I can't do it now, though."
"Is this a case where asking how your classes were going is an interesting question, or the opposite."
"I mean, I'll take it, considering. I usually get A's, sometimes I'll let a B slip past me in history or math or French - actually I bet language practice conversations would really hit the spot, I wouldn't be able to take notes but the amount and kind of paying attention to each other combined with learning a skill might be as good as it gets - and I take gym pass/fail and mostly follow a yoga app and lift weights in the corner unless we're doing something where I won't break my neck like swimming."
