Can Bar sell them anything magic? How long does the food Bar sells take to stop being good to eat? Can Bar sell them wine that sat for a hundred years? Can Bar sell them supplies that people use for artwork and sculpture in different societies? Can Bar sell them artwork and sculpture from different societies?

Bar cannot sell them anything magic. It depends on the food - she doesn't apply magical preservation properties to things but stuff in appropriate packaging can stay good for years and years. Yes! That too! Only if it was ever available for commercial sale, but many societies do have sufficiently mass-produced replicas of their art!

All right then. He would like six shopping carts full of aged wine and six shopping carts full of food fairies would like which is naturally inclined to last a long time and all kinds of odd exotic clays and odd exotic stone and odd exotic soft metals and a lot of machining tools and some high-precision scientific instruments and some famous works of art from fifty different worlds with art styles that, on reviewing catalogues, seem to at least count as beautiful.

...what will that cost. Not that the answer will mean very much to him necessarily but he's at least got something of a sense of what U.S. dollars are now.

$387,945.23. Most of that's the tools and instruments and after that it's mostly the wine; the candy's cheap and the mass produced art aren't too pricey and she can give him good deals on the raw materials.

"Can one run up a tab that big or do I need to get someone who can pay it?"

You may run up a tab of arbitrary size.

"Okay. That's only about ten years of my salary, I'll get it paid back once we go back to the place where I work, and you can ask sooner."

I don't mind at all, you may take as long as you like.

"Thank you.

Do you want to help me wheel these in?" he says to Catherine.

"Yeah."

"All my debts. I didn't really think about it but if I had I wouldn't have expected it to be so little."

"Don't belong to anybody now, I guess. Except maybe Bar. .....and kinda me."

Squeeze. "Kinda, yeah, being entangled isn't exactly the same thing...if you wanted to pay off your debt to me with stuff from Bar you could do that I guess."

"...nah. I don't think it really matters. Yours either way."

"You are. And I'm yours. And I kind of like keeping it managed, it's a sort of thinking about you and what I've done for you recently."

Hug. "All right then.

"Suppose it's probably still night outside. Which does slightly complicate the plan where we run off to see Greece."

"Yeah. - I think that maybe we could occupy ourselves until it's day, though."

"Yeah. That sounds doable."

She is so pleased with all of her life choices.

She probably cannot sustain interest in absolutely nothing but sex for however many more months of night there are, but Milliways also has an effectively infinite amount of reading material, and it's about time she restocked her stories anyway. Maybe she can read interdimensional histories and fiction aloud to him, if he'd like some of that in between all of the kissing.

That sounds neat! And she should tell his court tales of the fantastical Colorado Springs.

She can absolutely compose proper tales about their time in the fantastical land of Colorado Springs, if anyone would like those.

She has an eager audience for Colorado Springs tales.

And eventually it's morning.

Oh good. She can return alllmost all of Bar's books and take a handful with her for the road and then they can be out of here and off to Greece. Or wherever else they want to go.

Greece and.... after that maybe China? Or Egypt? Some of these will take several days of travel but, well, they're in no hurry.
