"...Kani?" what happened to her - well, besides the obvious 

She looks at the oth- she looks at Keith and Shiro, uncertainly.

Shiro helps the others out of the pool, and...waits to see what happens when Kani reaches the forcefield surrounding the robot lion. 

She doesn't know what to do she doesn't know what to do she doesn't know what to do

(she does nothing)

Okay, well, if nobody else is going to do anything ever. 

She shouts. "Kani! Please be careful? It could be dangerous!"

Kani looks back and laughs in a way that sends chills down Magini's spine. "Mags, it's okay! She's not dangerous. She loves me."

She reaches out and touches the blue sphere surrounding The Lioness.

For a moment, when she touches it, the entire glowing web flares with light, almost blinding in its intensity. Then the forcefield starts dissolving away, spreading outwards from the point where her hand made contact. 

Behind it, the lion's eyes light up a warm yellow. It tilts its head to look at Kani, shifts its weight...

And then it opens its mouth and roars. 

All five of them see a vision, just a brief moment: this lion and four others like it, all different colours, coming together and merging in a flash of light. Then, in their place, is another giant robot: a humanoid figure, even larger than the lion before them, its torso and each of its limbs made of a different colour—this, they somehow know, is Voltron. This lion and four of her siblings, all coming together. 

Kani gazes in clear adoration at the most important thing in her life.

(She has siblings. One wants Mags, one wants Red, one wants the tall man, one wants the other girl? Blue called them all here...)

Cool, cool, cool, the alien superweapon is definitely psychic. That... could make Keith's obsession with this place make a lot more sense, in retrospect, and also is a plausible explanation why Kani is acting like this?

(That's... terrifying, actually, but also - there are five lions, and five of them here, and that could be a coincidence, but she doesn't think it is! And she needs to know more. She can't walk away from this.) 

Magini starts walking forward, hesitantly.

The lion gets to her feet and then bends her front legs and leans down, bringing her head down to ground level. Opening her mouth, she extends a ramp from where a tongue might be on a flesh-and-blood animal.

The end of the ramp lands right in front of Kani's feet, but Kani can tell very clearly that the implied invitation is for all of them. 

Kani races up the ramp and stops at the top, beckoning to the others with an unsettling smile. "She says we should all come aboard."

Keith gives Shiro an 'Are you sure about this?' look. 

Sure, this seems pretty weird. But Shiro's life has been incredibly weird for the last year already. He shrugs. "I have a good feeling about this. And—this definitely isn't something I want the Galra getting their hands on. I'm going with her. You don't have to—" 

"I'm coming. You're not leaving me behind." Again. 

This is weird, and scary, and - Magini and Keith and Kani will almost certainly need help handling whatever-this-is even if Magini doesn't want her help anymore, and also Matty might be alive and Shiro is her only lead. So it doesn't matter if she's in over her head.

Ami follows, bringing up the rear.

At the top of the ramp, a ladder leads up through a hatch into a cockpit behind the Lion's eyes. There's a seat for the pilot, in front of a bank of glowy-blue controls, and a few handholds for the others to grip onto. 

The Lion's eagerness thrums in Kani's mind, their connection so much stronger ever since she touched the forcefield. 

Shiro steps to the side and grabs a handhold. Keith mirrors him. 

Kani slides into the pilot seat (it's where She wants her, obviously) and looks at the controls, hands reaching out without touching anything just yet. 

I'm here, she thinks to her Savior. 

Oh wow. Ami will copy Shiro and Keith. 

Magini's nervousness is temporarily displaced by sheer curiosity - she peers over Kani's shoulder, trying to drink in the alien control interface. (Are those physical buttons? some kind of projection? are they labeled?)

When Kani sits down, the pilot's seat shifts itself gently forwards and up a little so she's the right distance from the controls. A pair of joysticks fall naturally under her hands; all the other controls seem to be projected holograms. Text in an alien script scrolls across some of the screens, but the majority of the controls just aren't labelled at all.

The Lion sends Kani a mental image, overlapping her real vision: her hands grabbing the joysticks, pulling and pushing like this, which will make the Lion move like this—

She mimics the movements obediently.

The Lion leaps forward eagerly, bounding along the cavern floor and up the rockfall from earlier. They pass through the cave above with the carvings, and on out of the cave mouth to frolic through the pool, sending up splashes of water that drench Keith's bike, parked slightly too close. (Keith makes an indignant noise.) 

The Lion's presence in Kani's mind is full of pure joy at the movement, and excitement to do more. Does she want to fly? 

She startles when Keith makes a noise, broken out of her trance slightly. She thinks about... how hard it would be to leave Bippy 2 behind...

...can We bring Red's bike with us?, she asks The Lioness, along with a wordless apology for not taking off just yet.

The Lioness sends Kani a vision/sense-memory/hallucination of picking the bike up in powerful jaws, biting down as geeennntly as possible—feeling something crunch between her teeth anyway—

...or they could put it in the cargo hold in the Lion's belly, if they have a way of getting it there. 

...Does She think they're in danger right now, could Keith to get out and drive the bike into the cargo bay...

And she reaches for a series of memories, because she doesn't know how to say it...

Kani, crying alone in her room; Kani, being presented with Bippy 2 for the first time; Kani, riding Bippy 2 in the river, still hurting badly but not trapped; Kani-and-Bippy-2, coming up on the waterfall cave...

(From everyone else's perspective, she's just... sitting there...)
