After a little bit, Lucas calls everyone over to where the ceremony will be, as he will be the officiant.

Paparazzi are not invited, though, since that ceremony is not about him. If any show up all the guests have permission to beat the shit out of them.

The bloody enthusiasm with which Lucas protects his grandkids' right to be out of the spotlight, to the extent that's possible, is kind of endearing.

When they get there, there is a person already by the wedding arch dressed up in a very groomlike fashion. He has a very striking resemblance to Lucas, to the point where if you didn't know better you might think they're related.

...wait. Peter remembers now why he recognized the name "Alexei".

Isn't that... the name of Lucas Yahontov's father? According to Simpedia?

Sure is!

This one is definitely a young adult, though.

It's not really a very common name. And the resemblance is really strong. The internet is full of pictures of what Lucas used to look like when he was a young adult and all you gotta do is get rid of his glasses, change his haircut, and make him like 50% less buff, and he looks exactly like Alexei.

So... is Zachary marrying his great-grandfather. And is his great-grandfather immortal somehow.

What... is happening.

He's really writing a pretty in-depth fanfic in his head right now, isn't he. People can sometimes look similar. It's kind of a weird coincidence but, like, is that less likely than that Zachary is marrying his immortal great-grandfather? Like, come on, be reasonable.

He will reasonably ask someone later whether Alexei is in fact Lucas's father. That's what he'll do. After the ceremony.

And then the wedding processional song starts, everyone takes their seats, and Zach shows up and starts walking down the aisle, grinning from ear to ear.

And when Alexei sees that, he starts grinning, too.

Aww aww awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww they're so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

Eric is standing by the wedding arch, grinning too if not as widely as the grooms, hands folded behind his back and bouncing back and forth in place a bit.

When Zach reaches Alexei he takes both of Alexei's hands in his and lifts them to his lips to kiss them.

Which makes him blush horribly but keep grinning.

"Welcome, everyone. We're gathered here today to watch Zachary Yahontov and Alexei Yahontov come together in matrimony."

"They will now say their vows."

"Alexei. I love you a lot. I will love you forever and ever. In this life and all others."

"Zach. I love you, too. You're ridiculous. I will always be your husband, in this life and all others."

Peter supposes it would've been asking too much of them to have very interesting vows but since he is in fact a huge sap he is tearing up anyway.
