Eventually Haru switches to Les Mis.

"I think if I were less backlashed I might be okay to try sonnets again?  Especially if 19 were sticky-noted over or something."

"...I don't have them all memorized to guess which ones might be too, uh, visceral."

"I'm really bored?  And kind of hopeful that if we do kissing first then I might be able to like, flinch, and collect myself, and go to the next one."

"Okay." Haru turns his head appropriately and waits.

Haru strives to be unsurprising in his reaction to this.

Julien is going to keep this going for as long as it seems like the thing to do, because he's very bored and as entertainment goes - this isn't quite saltine cracker, but he's at least decently confident that there aren't going to be surprise monsters in it.

No surprise monsters appear. Haru's good to kiss as long as Julien seems to want to.

Oh, that's kind of surprising.  Julien got the vibe this was going to be pretty perfunctory.  But he'll take it!  Man, it's going to be really convenient if the directors are just like, fujoshis, or something, instead of wanting to torture him.  On the other hand, it could be both; this does seem really ripe for Tobiasing him -

Ah, fuck, now he's thinking about Animorphs.  Somehow he avoided actually doing that last time, directly.  All the descriptions of bones cracking and faces deforming - he pauses, in the kissing, without removing his mouth, trying to take account of his body, make sure everything is still in a human shape...

"Hm?"

...Leeeean back.  "Have you read Animorphs?"

"...some of it when I was like, eight."

"...That's really young for that, wow - I just.  Remembered they existed.  And had to make sure that I wasn't...."

"I was a precocious reader. You look unmorphed to me."

"Okay..."

The fact that this keeps going on is a pretty good sign that he's not going to be tortured about it, which means he should keep doing it!  But the thing is that after doing it for a while, he wants to be doing something else.  He's not really sure whether the something else should involve more or less guiding than this, but this definitely and for sure seems like a wrong amount to do indefinitely.

For a while he just keeps kissing Haru about this, but eventually he - pulls back, and tucks his forehead onto Haru's shoulder.

"Better?"

"...A lot better than I was."

"I can go get sticky notes when you're ready."

Hhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Extract.  "Okay."

Haru goes into a drawer in the kitchen and comes back with a pad of green sticky notes.

Where'd the book go there it is.  Book gets handed to Haru.
