"That's very generous of spirit." Nomnomnom. "Cricket, of course, likes anchovy."

"I don't know that I've ever tried anchovies to know if I would actually dislike them."

"It's okay, actually."

Maybe I will attempt it at some point."

"We can go in together on a pizza with Cricket one of these days."

"Sure. I can always pick them off if I end up not wanting them. I'm sure Cricket will happily dispose of the extras."

"You understand him perfectly, yes."

"He does a good job of making himself understood."

"I'm not sure I'd actually say that, he doesn't care about explaining himself any time it's the least bit inconvenient, he just happens to be very close to exactly what you'd expect if you had certain preexisting guesses about talking cats."

"Yeah. That's fair. I suppose it's better to say he's very self-explanatory."

"That's a good way to put it." Nomnomnom Haru's hungry. Hungry and snuggly and talkative. "It's good that he gets along with you all right."

"Well, most people do, usually, thought I know Cricket is exceptionally picky in that regard, so I'm flattered."

"He would've tolerated you at my request but he's gone a little above and beyond."

"It would be a little awkward otherwise."

"A bit, yeah, though at least your backlash would cooperate pretty well with keeping him at arm's length."

"it would yeah. It might be helping with not getting on his nerves as it is. Though, I do try to be mindful of people who need more space than I naturally do."

"When you're slowing down on your pizza enough I am enjoying the vaccine book."

"I thought you might enjoy that one. I'm also finding it interesting. You also wanted a shoulder rub, yes? I think I've almost had my fill here. We can stash the rest in the minifridge and it can be tomorrow's lunch."

"Yes please." He folds part of a pizza box into something that should keep it from drying out too drastically while fitting in a minifridge, and puts the remaining pizza therein and away, and then back into bed.

She climbs back into bed at his back and props herself up with a pillow so she can reach both his shoulders. "Let me know if I'm getting the right spots? And if you want more pressure." Shoulder rub. Starting out fairly light.

"You can go like twice as hard as that. Closer to the shoulderblades maybe?"

"Sure." Putting some more pressure in and working her way along the shoulderblades. "How's that? I'm more used to giving backrubs lower down, for uh...cramps."

"It's good. Does that... work? I wouldn't really expect it to, even if the pain's referred to the back it's not actually musculoskeletal."

"it helps some people feel better at least. Some people also tense their lower back muscles. Also might be the placebo effect."

"That makes sense. Ooh right there's a good spot."
