They wake up lying on the ground.
Outdoors.
It's a bright, clear day.
Their body feels different.
Who's in front?
Warm, eager curiosity, with a side of playful smirk? Okay feels like it's Sable.
Yang laughs happily, picks Momo up, and twirls her, then kisses her!
"You're amazing, Momo!"
You know what, though, this time she really does think she is. This most definitely isn't something anyone with a bank account and a jeweller could do.
Yeah, no, this is something that takes a very clever girl with a lot of engineering knowledge and the best Quirk for fabrication Yang's ever heard of, on top of a bunch of dedication and care and thoughtfulness. Momo is amazing, Yang is right about this.
"It honestly is amazing that we're actually going to do this," she opines. "But we are going to do this, and it's going to be great."
And now, with her feet back under her after the twirl, she kisses Yang right back.
Ooh. Yang approves.
She makes this very clear by burying her hands in Momo's hair and deepening the kiss.
And Momo makes it quite clear how much she approves of Yang's methods of demonstrating approval, in turn - not taking any steps that go much beyond kissing, certainly not yet - but nonetheless showing an appreciation that is best conveyed by wrapping herself around Yang and not letting go.
Yeah, they're gonna be at it for a while. Yang might back Momo against the tree in the process, pressing herself against her, savoring the contact as they kiss.
Yang's got no objections to more kissing. She'll even moan into Momo's mouth a bit and drop a hand down to squeeze her ass.
She is still a little concerned about moving too fast.
Especially when they haven't even gotten the day's training done.
"...As much as I really want to find out where we could go with this, do you think we should be doing that now? I was thinking we'd spar, today. And plans change, especially if we're going to make you something like Ember Celica - I'm sure I could fill today up with nothing but that, if we wanted to do it - but I think we do need to test your skills, and we need to test them against something less static than a punching bag. I just don't know, well --
"-- are we planning to do that today, or should I assume I won't need to worry about conserving my stamina for intense physical activities?"
Yang blushes and pulls away, laughing. "Eheh. Yeah, Momo, you've got a really good point. We need to be sure enough of all the basic skillsets, and that absolutely includes unarmed. As much as I'd love to spend the next few hours rocking each other's worlds, we really should get some training in today. I need to translate the wreckage of my form from my exomemories and combine it with the instincts Gwen left us and make sure the result is usable for fighting people and monsters, and that's gonna take sparring.
"No matter how much I'd rather spend the next hour making out and then escalate from there."
"I do legitimately mean that I think we could just as well work on Ember Celica herself, in some form, today, and unarmed combat tomorrow. And armed combat, for that matter.
"But the sooner we start figuring out not just what you can do but what you will default to doing, the sooner we know what we're even working with as far as getting you a fighting form you could incorporate both shotgun gauntlets and webs into would even look like."
Yang nods. "Yeah. That's really the place to start. We can refine a better fighting style, but that takes time, and it's simpler to just start out building around where the default instincts land once we unify it all."
"Indeed."
She's going to take down the tent before they start, to clear up space.
"It doesn't help that we don't really have all that much space to work with, and certainly not UA's many and varied training facilities - for example - but we'll make do."
And once everyone is in either combat gear or appropriate training gear, and tapping out and Things To Avoid Doing Until You Know That You Know How To Do Them Safely have been discussed, Momo readies herself.
"We start with Quirkless sparring. Powers come later, though I don't expect to avoid your danger sense. I'll attack first." And real life doesn't have countdowns.
She is, personally, quite unsuited in temperament to go on the offensive without at least a big stick to whack someone with. But that does not mean that she cannot do it. She has had to.
After a few moments squared up, her form liquid, ready to bend in any direction and deflect overwhelming force at a moment's notice - she shifts her stance in a direction this author cannot help but call 'forwards' as she tests the Pirates' - or possibly Yang's-personally, she'll have to ask later - reactions with a sharp and sudden jab.
Momo's been training all her life with the best Heroes, including against Quirks. She's fast, especially considering her Quirk does nothing for physical combat. But not fast enough to be a surprise.
Yang shifts an arm just a bit higher to catch Momo's punch on her left forearm, stepping closer to snap out an underpowered jab of her own, before darting back to open up the range.
