Boat!

"Is that it?" he asks – kinda shouts at – Rikku.

"Yeah!"

It's a metal boat, flat, and going rather fast.

Fortunately, Theo can go rather fast too, and 'rather fast in water' happens to be… slower.

He catches up with it and lands on the deck.

A door opens and three Al Bhed appear, pointing a gun at them.

"Wait! He's friendly!" Rikku says in Al Bhed.

"Also indestructible!" he says, letting Rikku down.

"What do you want?" an Al Bhed with a yellow mask asks.

"Your prisoner, since you seem to be misguided in your aims."

"What?"

He sighs and mutters a little. "Apparently you have Dona, because you're capturing all the summoners to save them from killing Sin because it doesn't help? Yeah, we have a plan."

He looks at Rikku. "Rikku—Cid will be—"

"Look, he means it! We have a plan! We'll kill Sin for good!" she says.

"What plan?"

"Well, first of all, does it even matter if we have a plan because like c'mon you're literally kidnapping someone –"

"Okay seriously you're not helping I already explained you the rationale—"

Sigh. "Some new information came to light after I buried my way into Sin and we think it could be useful in figuring out what the fuck's going on so we can stop it – without resorting to trying to overthrow a religion by kidnapping its members."

"Overthrowing it's not the point—"

"Why are you even arguing with him?" someone with a red mask asks. "Why should we give the summoner to you?"

"I'm not saying give her to me, I'm saying don't kidnap her."

"Question stands."

"Because typically the act of kidnapping is not the default, so if situations change to remove the incentives you should not be doing it?"

"And how have they changed?"

He pauses. "I was led to believe the reason you were doing this was because nobody else was trying to do anything and this was a way to get them to do things."

"Yeah but all I have is your word."

"And mine—" Rikku starts.

"You were kidnapped by him."

"Do you think I brainwashed her?"

"You could be blackmailing her or something."

"With… having… kidnapped her…? Why and how?"

"How should I know, you're the kidnapper."

"I don't think I actually did ever kidnap her?"
