"You did tell me so mere hours earlier!"

“You made objectively the correct choice but it would have been cool and dramatic if you had just taken my hand at that point and I had surprised you.”

"I agree. Alas that it was not so. I will simply lie to my grandchildren. What brings me here besides my having been told so?"

“Well, I wanted to show off! This place is neat!”

"I like your staring chair!"

“Thank you! I like staring at things.”

"What things are best to stare at?"

“Right now? Books. I exist inside and outside the pocket dimension at the same time, so I can multitask. Any time I’m not doing something else in here I’m reading.”

"Learning good spells?"

“Yesssssssss.”

"What is your affinity, do you know yet?"

“Divinations! Or something in that mien.”

"Keenest!"

“I’m an enormous fan.”

"I like mine but not everybody is happiest about theirs."

“Well, I became a wizard via notebook powers, and the notebook powers are all about doing things in the most convenient way possible.”

"How do you reckon it chose to send you here?"

“Well, the magic’s really cool, and I can do a lot of good. So far I’m deeply happy with my results there.”

"How did it know we were here to be done good to? Is there a directory?"

“That, I don’t know. I didn’t have as much time to converse with the notebook as I’d’ve liked; I had been kidnapped by an enemy of my parents’ when I met it, and I had to have it send me off as soon as she got back.” She lifts her foot to demonstrate the burn scar circling her ankle. “This was a lot fresher, at the time.”

"Ow! I am sure someone has a spell for that if you do not like to have it there."

“I’ll probably look into that at some point but for right now it’s nicely illustrative as to the hurry I was in to get gone.”
