In the middle of the night, after Camillo passes out on top of his covers but before he wakes up in the morning to drag himself to class, a new app is quietly installed on his phone.
...well. Okay.
So that wiped his own memory, too. Obviously. And it deleted the texts, so presumably he can't just leave himself a note.
But: think logically. Either Z said, basically, go wild, or he said no way. And if he said no way -- why roll him back? So he must have said yes. Maybe there were more preferences in there -- he can't get it perfect -- but he can guess that Z's basically on board. It's not nothing.
It sure would be convenient if he had Dorothy's number.
Camillo spends half an hour putting Dorothy and Z into different outfits and poses, before he gets tired of the magic video game and goes back to cookie running.
He switches his Sultana home screen between Dorothy and Z, occasionally, puts them in different poses when he does.
Dinner comes and goes. He adds a guy from the cafeteria to his Stable, tweaks his digestion and masochism and volition, makes his knees less weird-looking and the birthmark on his ass a cuter shape. In theory he could ask the guy about consent for this but it seems really hard to get a random stranger to buy into the whole premise. He'll just have to live with his new and improved knees.
The pearl count per minute from his barely modified one-star boys is laughable, but it’s better than two empty slots.
Tomorrow, when he’s got a few more Pearls saved up, he’ll have to take his phone out to the quad and look at a lot of people and see if he can find someone with a higher star ranking.
He makes sure to set Z as his home screen before he goes to bed. Good night, Z. You’re going to have a weird few weeks.
The moment he opens the app, he’s greeted with his

Day 1
which is another wardrobe ticket.
Oh no look at the cute sleepy Z on his homescreen. Oh no. Oh no.
And now it’s gacha time!! What a beautiful start to the day.
He draws “Romantasy (Male Lead)”, which is a loose, billowy white shirt (two buttons open) and a pair of dark pants and riding boots. And a hair ribbon in the ponytail.
This is obviously an outfit for Dorothy.
...can he separate the outfits into components. He wants to put that ribbon on Z.
He can!
What’s more, when he goes into the editor to do it, he has two tabs: “Sultana Clothes” and “Z’s Clothes”.
He’s not allowed to click that tab yet, though.
The cow bikini is…very small. The clothes seem to tailor themselves to whoever he picks, but the bikini bottom still shows a little shaft.
Wow it's incredibly tempting to hit SAVE and see if Z shows up to class in a cow bikini.
He shows admirable restraint and just nudges Z's erect/flaccid ratio up a bit, instead.
It's not like that. This is just for the pearls.
After his morning class, he does go sit in the quad and look at people through his phone camera, scanning for high star values.
The quad all seems to be one or two star individuals.
A definite pattern emerges. People he’s maybe seen in passing in a class are one star. People he’s had some sort of interaction with, a quick chat or a group study or even a smaller class with a lot of discussion, are two stars.
A few people who come through the quad don’t even have a star rating. A mother and her two children, a man in a tie who seems to be cutting across campus on his lunch break.
Yes, he does.
There’s a slightly less impressive sequence of animations than there was for the Premium Tool, once he pulls the lever, but it still ends with a ticket printed and a little popup announcing his new Thought Inspector.
Oh boy. He really shouldn't use that one.
...or maybe he should, actually? If he's going to be making changes to people -- and he already decided that made sense to do, at least sometimes -- maybe it helps, to check if he's done anything that really hurts them? It's the next best thing to actually being able to ask them.
Camillo glances around the quad to make sure no one's looking at his phone, taps on the Thought Inspector.
