An Epic Miracle

Epic gets lost in Miracle, and sets something big off.

In a small, burnt out town in post Miracle Revolt Alabama, two groups small children are waging war on each other with incredible, physics defying powers. Unnatural wind howls across the urban battlefield, while a little girl hurls lightning at enormous, multicoloured fish circling above her, while a rainbow coloured crouches behind a wrecked car. Coils of darkness attempt to engulf the three glowing, platinum blond kids who seem to be the source of the wind.

All and all, it's very difficult to tell how serious this is.

It looks more surreal than serious, actually! Unless anyone is getting hurt, is anyone getting hurt?

The kids are throwing each other around a bit, but they're tougher than they look.

Then he will back off - invisible - and watch the spectacle.

One of the flying blonde children hurtles past him, glowing violently.

He wonders if this magic system is learnable, it looks cool.

The combatants are an odd looking lot. One side is composed of raggedy looking kids in a motley assortment of old, ratty clothes. The black girl throwing lightning in particular seems to be wearing a lab coat way too big for her. One of her friends has green hair, and they're being aided by two child sized masses of humanoid darkness.

The other side isn't really wearing anything at all, aside from one of the flyers, who's wearing what looks like a ninja costume with...fake wings? They're all weirdly fast and graceful for little kids.

Eventually, the green haired boy is knocked down by what looks like a girl made of mercury, hard.

Is he okay? Tap-heal, just in case -

He was, but he seems to notice something odd. "Guys." No response from the other combatants. "Guys!" They're still intent on fighting. "GUYS!!" He screams.

That gets a response.

"Hey, Simone, is your Corundum wussing out?"

"Shut up," growls the lightning hurler.

The green haired boy rolls his eyes. "I felt some weird while I was on the ground, and it didn't feel like Aether."

A naked blonde girl suddenly appears from nowhere. "Definitely not me."

Pop. "Yeah sorry I wasn't sure if you were actually hurt."

The OTHER blonde girl gasps. "Oh, my God, BIRDIE BOY!" She tackle hugs him. "And he's so pretty."

"Um, hi," says one of the glowing twins. "Who are you?"

Hug should stay well clear of his braids, please. He wrangles her accordingly. "I'm Epic, who are you guys, how were you doing that, it looked cool."

"We're Miracles," replies the rainbow coloured boy, who now is mostly light orange with streaks of ochra. "I think some parts of this country call them Wonders. Are you not one?"

"Nope, I'm a demon. How do you become one?"

The kid in the ninja costume drops to the ground, removing his helmet. "A demon, is that like, a joke?"

"No." Wing-fluff. "It's a species. The species that I am. I'm also an Elf but that's not really relevant."

"You're a pretty elf."

"Well, Miracles are a sort of species. We're like humans, but better."

"I'd say we're more of a subspecies."

Said ferals, including the two masses of darkness which have now revealed themselves as a very pale brother and sister, poke their tongues at Stan.

"Don't be mean, guys."

"Hi! Is that why you can do magic?"
