The following day has class as usual, their fears of Argent discovery not having caused anything unexpected overnight.
"Toughness is good. No offense, but you're kind of unprotected compared to us."
"I saw that look," she tells Stiles. "But yeah, it might be a good idea to learn all magic you can if there aren't any horrible side effects."
"Did you notice any? Because we're probably good, right, you were doing it for a while..."
"Wait, if you can't use druid magic anymore, why does the shapeshifting thing still work?"
"No, I was doing it for like a few weeks before I was all chomped. And the shapeshifting thing is—it's like the lycanthropy, it's a part of me now, not a magic I do."
"So if I want to turn, I should get all my ducks in a row first...okay, so we'll start with some basic buffs for me, first, then I'll try to add some on you and see if that fails. Well, dad first, then you."
"Lots of herbs and the book. I should reiterate that it is just the one book, it doesn't cover much."
"Still something. We need all the help we can get for this alpha."
"I'm glad we ran into you. I don't know what I would do if it was just Derek."
"Speaking of old grumpy face, can we count on him for this?"
"The answer by default is probably 'no,' but count on him for what exactly?"
"Dealing with the alpha? We're going to have to find and talk to it. Them, whatever."
"I'm not sure. He wants to deal with the alpha, he's said so, but he wants to do it on his own. I'm not sure I like his prospects, but I'm not sure I like ours, either."
"I have not surprisingly run into many wolves in my life, so my sample is small. But it's also biased in favor of that hypothesis, yes, given my existence."
