Myth Drannor! City of Song and City of Love! City of Bards and City of Beauty! City of Brotherhood and City of Crowns! City of Might and City of Spells!

Once the greatest metropolis on the continent, the pinnacle of culture, knowledge, and civilization, capital of Cormanthyr, prospering within the bounds of the mythal that shielded it from heat or cold, frost or fire. 

Then came the Trio Nefarious and their Army of Darkness, the Weeping War they embarked on, the litany of tragedies: Helmgrove, Burnt Ridge, the Siege of Shadow, and the Banes' Duel.

For centuries the city lay devastated. The former inhabitants who survived largely scattered, and those elves who remained forbade all but dragons from entering. (It would be folly to try and stop a dragon, and besides they hoped that the dragons would lair in the wreckage to further deter intruders.)

Then, a hundred years ago, the daemonfey overcame those defenders. When the elven crusade from Evermeet retook the city, they reoccupied it, and for a time it seemed the Towers of Song would have their renaissance.

This rebirth was not to last. The Netherese enclave of Thultanthar returned from the Plane of Shadow and resumed the ancient conflict for the Nether Scrolls. At the culmination of that struggle, the floating enclave crashed down on Myth Drannor, killing or driving out the inhabitants once again. 

It is now ten years after the second fall of Myth Drannor. Who would be foolish enough to go roaming in the ruins, haunted by demons and undead, warped by nigh on a millennium of the most powerful magic?
