"I've got a transaction address I can give you, the rest should be possible to figure out with public info. Consider it an exercise."

She taps at her keyboard, then nods. "You two should both have me in your contacts now, with my transaction address recorded. You might have to accept a contact request on your end. It'll be on the main menu of whatever device you're using."

Mae nods and turns to her sister, and they begin looking through their clamshells' menus to find and figure out the payment interfaces.

After a few minutes of looking around, they manage to find the menu. It's relatively easy for the children to navigate, and before long they've figured it out and sent off a $30 payment to Agent R.

Westview Branch Library. It's in the north-east quarter of the city. I advise going there for a scouting mission and paying attention to the local buildings as well as the people, facilities and books. It's a 15 minute train ride from your nearest station.

And good luck.

"Gosh, I don't think I've ever been that far from Sable before."

"A real adventure!!!" Audrey bounces up and down and grins.

"Anything more you two need from me before you set out?"

"…We should be able to figure out how to get there with our clamshells?"

"Mhm. Basic travel guides for the city are paid for by Civilization."

"If that's all then, I'll be off. Ta ta?"

Mae smiles.

"I think that's all, yeah. Thanks for the help!"

And she turns to Audrey.

"Okay, what should we pack? Notebooks and pencils… oh, no, we have clamshells now! Okay so just snacks and… is there anything you can think of? Maybe raincoats—we should check the weather…"

She begins tapping through her clamshell, looking for a place to check the weather forecast.

Agent R. taps a key, and vanishes from the pair's screens.

Audrey wiggles her head back and forth, sticking out her tongue as she reads the numbers on her screen. The pictures help a lot.

"Mmmm, it says it's supposed to be cloudy today and fourteen, and then tomorrow it's rain for most of the day. Windbreakers maybe?"

"Mmm, windbreakers make sense!"

She nods, then runs over to grab hers and Audrey's from the closet, before trotting off to the kitchen, sister in tow, to obtain snacks for their adventure.

Clematis is in the kitchen, and has packed each of them a box lunch already.

"Heading off already?", she asks, seeing their windbreakers.

"Mhm! Important conspiracy business!" Audrey nods nods firmly.

"Very important!" Mae chimes in seriously.

"I'm glad to hear it. I've made up a pair of lunches for you to take with you, more because I'm fussing than because I really feel you'll need them. Still, it is food you don't need to pay for..."

Mae nods happily.

"And food we don't need to find! Thank you mama Clematis!"

And she hugs her, for good measure.

Audrey also hugs Mama Clematis, and accepts her lunchbox.

"I think I'll leave what's in it a surprise," Audrey says with a smile. "See you later, mama!"

"See you later, sweetie. Have a good day!"

And Clematis passes the other lunchbox to Mae, hugs her softly, and gives her a little kiss on the forehead.

"That goes for both of you. And remember you can always call."

Mae nods vigorousy. "Absolutely!"

She hugs Clematis back, and then they're off! They haven't been to this particular library before, but their clamshells seem to have a map application installed, and it only takes a bit of fiddling to download the travel guides from the city's database.

Adventure adventure they're off on an adventure!

Not far to the train station! Audrey's been there before with Clematis a bunch of times.

Trains are good! They haven't been on one without an adult before, but the instructions on the clamshell aren't complicated: get on at Twelfth Tundra station and off at Third Twilight. Simple!

But despite the simplicity, Mae is still a bit nervous, and spends the whole ride anxiously glancing down at her clamshell and up at the station names.

Audrey is similarly watching the station names like a hawk and not really able to relax and take in the sights of the city going by outside.

It's only once they debark that she breathes a sigh of relief, and points at the star-illuminated welcome billboard inside the station with a wide smile. "Third Twilight! We made it!"

The station building itself is mostly glass, with a pattern of grooves in the walls designed to make rain make pretty patterns... when there's rain. Mostly it just looks like a bee-hive from inside.

There's a bridge and stairs (as well as a pair of very long ramps) down from the elevated station to the main street on the other side of the platform, out through the double doors.
