"Alchemy is a side gig, my current primary interest is ethical philosophy. Tanidio says that you're from a world without alignment and I am very curious about how axiology develops without being shaped by the the fundamental forces of the universe wanting to divide all sapient beings into nine boxes."

"I know even less about the philosophy here, so I wouldn't know what the differences are."

Would Levrolurment like a brief summary of Theravadan Buddhism by someone who metaphorically expected a test, but not a literal one; Ruism as it came up in high school history classes; and other philosophies as they apply specifically to medical ethics.

YES YES YES HE WOULD LIKE THOSE THINGS

He is very excited. He bounces.

The bouncing and enthusiasm is pretty charming.

It's a shame an actual philosopher didn't get sent here from Earth.

Levrolurment agrees strongly!

"Actual philosophers couldn't teach us about curing childbed fever which seems rather more important."

"What we need is a representative from each profession to land here. Also: handwashing. Handwashing is going to stop 80-90 percent of that."

"...honestly that seems solvable without first educating doctors, if you could tell all the clerics to talk to all the midwives in their area and tell them Asmodeus commands them to wash their hands."

"Could you tell them Asmodeus commands them to use soap, also, if it's available?"

"Yes. And I'll tell Chrisor to tell them that Asmodeus might have future instructions."

"That would help a lot, thank you."

Levrolurment opens up a bag at his hip and starts pulling out dozens of pieces of alchemical equipment, all of which are too large to fit in the bag. "All right, stop me when you get to something you recognize."

He's not going to question the bag! "That's a condenser."

"Excellent."

And now they can do an alchemical setup, half of which is normal chemistry equipment Bun recognizes, and half of which he has no idea what it does.

"And here is a set of standard alchemical ingredients, alongside the seaweed and so on that you asked for."

"...I guess I will sit here and Prestidigitate and Mend and do Unseen Servant like I'm a laundry wizard."

"Absolutely not, you will stir. Cayden Cailean finds work for idle hands, as they say."

"Unfortunately I don't know how to make magnetic stirrers, and they're not a priority anyway," he says, with the sadness of someone who didn't know what they would miss it until it was gone.

"That's... something that does the stirring for you? Using compasses?"

"With electricity, but otherwise yes. --you can just leave it stirring and go do something else."

"Sort of like an Unseen Servant, then."

He casts it and then sends it over to go poke Bun repeatedly in the nose.

Getting poked in the nose by an invisible person: An Experience.

... And he should learn his lesson and not flirt in front of the alchemist. "A very stirring focused unseen servant."

"Excuse me, human mating rituals are not alchemy and sex is not currently my subject of interest. I want to learn how to make medicine."

"It's okay, I'm third circle, my Unseen Servant lasts six, seven hours. Seven and a half if I push. Plenty of time for fun later."

"Words cannot express how little I care. What do you need the seaweed for."

"In the short term, to make a gel. In the longer term, to grow things on that gel and do experiments to them."
