"...okay so you know how in your world you have rice cookers and laundry machines and, I don't know, automatic floor-sweepers--"

"--we do actually have those, they're called 'vacuums.'"

"In our world we don't have those. What we have instead is servants. Because cooking and cleaning and maintaining a household, without vacuums and rice cookers, is a full-time job. And it is not a full-time job it makes sense for you to do, because you are important, because you have knowledge no one else in our world does and it is knowledge that can save people's lives. In your world, everyone has rice cookers and vacuums, and that's great, and we should try to make that happen here. On Golarion, we can't afford to treat everyone equally, and so important people have servants. I used to clean my house's floors, and then I became a wizard, and now someone cleans my floors for me because if I spend my time cleaning my floors then I don't have that time to study magic and then demons will invade and eat everyone. You have advanced medical knowledge, and now someone should clean your floors for you, because if you waste your time cleaning floors then babies will die. So what I think is that you should call for a servant and ask for them to fetch you whatever you want, and then I am going to try to get it into your head that you are important and should act like you're important, and then if you manage to grasp this concept before the food gets here you can fuck my ass, as a reward, because people learn things better with rewards and because how much I want you to fuck me is in fact totally immaterial compared to you learning your place in the world because you are more important than I am."

"I cook because-- I want to? I'm not doing it better I have to, I know I could ask the servants, but because I enjoy it?" And also because he could find out Tanidio's favourite food and see the look on his face when he makes it for him. "And I know recreation trades off against me doing medical things, but... 'every hour you sleep or relax, a baby dies' is not long term sustainable. And I'm maybe more useful than you, or at least useful in different ways, that doesn't mean I'm more worthy than you?" Cheek kiss. "You should be less mean to people I love, it's very rude." Objectively it's been three days, but hey, he's allowed to stay it. It's true.

...why does that "I love" make him feel sick and gross inside. He wouldn't be saying it if not for the Charm Person but that's just normal. Does Tanidio somehow expect that someone who isn't his mom is going to say "I love you" to him unCharmed? He, an adult, wants another adult to relate to him like he's a baby who doesn't know how to talk or shit in a chamberpot? Why does Bun make him so disgusting and weak--

"...what's unsustainable about 'every time you relax, a baby dies'?"

... "It makes everything an emergency-- and it is, I'm not denying that-- but you cannot live in an emergency for years, which is how long this will take."

"...I was at the Worldwound for years and it was fine?"

He did attack someone he found in his bed by surprise. ... Which is very understandable and he won't do it again, but still. "... This is medical knowledge you likely wouldn't have yet, it took us a long time to find out, but that sort of long term stress is bad for people. ... Probably enough people here experience it that it looks normal." He sounds kind of horrified at that revelation.

"Long-term stress is what makes you more skilled magically and as a fighter. --And I assume for other things but I don't know how to make a very stressed-out farmer to see if that causes them to produce twenty times the crop yields."

THEIR MAGIC RUNS ON TRAUMA? That's horrifying. "--that's useful to know."

"I knew a woman who could shoot a dozen arrows a thousand feet in two minutes blindfolded and hit the mark every time and you don't get that level of skill unless you spend every minute of every day fighting like you are about to die."

"Being very skilled isn't quite the same thing as being healthy." Hairpets will not solve the problem of Tanidio being traumatized and not realising it.

"...she's also very hard to kill, most Worldwound soldiers are, once you've been fighting long enough you can fall off a thousand-foot cliff and brush yourself off and be fine. But that might be the magic healing. I guess I can cast Infernal Healing on you every day...?"

"--I was about to say something about different aspects of health, that there's more to health than just being hard to kill, but now I'm worried we're biological different? People who have been in wars are not better at surviving high falls. That's a fall that would kill anyone."

"The going theory is that getting a lot of magical healing makes you more durable."

"--that sounds plausible? But there's not really anyway to test it."

"I should probably do Infernal Healing on you every day to be on the safe side. I'd have to prep it anyway in case you die, it's pretty low-cost. It'd just trade off against using it for sex, but Bear's Endurance and the amount of magical healing I've received for the last five years ought to be enough for that unless you have very unusual tastes. Since at baseline you can do things to me that would kill most peasants."

"I... Don't want to do anything to you that has any particular risk of death?"

"...people like having their lovers helpless and at their mercy?"

... This is maybe more accurate than he would like it to be. "I also wouldn't want to spend the whole time worried you might die?"

"I can be very distracting from your worries."

"Hopefully not too distracting?"

"... How did we get here from the concept of breakfast?"

"...you're also very distracting?"
