It's been weeks of tumultuous dreams for the Gemstones. That's nothing new, of course - there's always been stresses and often been traumas. They've always had a certain flex to their thoughts and selfhood, too, but this case is... different. There's been a constancy to them, or at least a vividness, images of the same imposing mountain dominating the skyline, replete with snow, craggy cliff faces and shimmering pools, pounding with a certain unspeakable pressure. Of a sheltered world, all bare stone save scattered shelves, and of an ever-shifting club with ever shimmering lights, and the glee of the passing glory of the catch, the chase, the music and the dance.
It's amongst the most interesting thing in their lives, given how much they've had to fight and how much they've had to cast aside to get their hormones, once they realized the stunning obviousness of the optimality of being a girl. It's progressed alright, in the year they've had them, but it's so painfully short of what they imagine, and what they dream, when she reaches for what would be truly right.
