"Actually, with the collar gone maybe I can. Will she be safe here?"

"Of course."

"Do you have a candle and some food I can use.

She likes peanuts."

...He doesn't keep, uh, candles on the ship. He's got glowrods. Or there's Luke's lightsaber, maybe.

Peanuts he can do.

"What is a light saber? And mostly it is about fire, but any light might work?"

He has no idea what's going on, so he trusts in the Force. He takes his lightsaber from his belt and ignites it with a flick, filling the room with emerald light and a reassuring hum.

"Ok I need to carry that in a circle around the seed while calling."

"All right. Be very careful. A lightsaber can cut through nearly anything."

He hands it over, and opens himself to the Force, ready to grab it if she's about to point it at her face or something. Not that anyone would ever do that.

*she puts the seed on the ground and begins to pace out a circle around it. Neverously holding the lightsaber up like a big votive candle.*

Come here Sabak pls.

Who's a good birdy?

Sabak is yes you are.

*at first nothing happens*

If Luke gave a kid a laser sword just to play pretend with he's kind of worried about the whole Jedi Academy idea.

He's too busy opening his senses to try to perceive whatever power this is to notice Han's expression, but he wouldn't mind anyway. He'll stop being so cynical eventually. He can only be wrong so many times before he notices.

*woah crow be upon ye*

Definitely not just another Force tradition.

"caww caw caaaw"

[Your alive! And not burnt!]

"Yes Master Skywalker removed my collar. And the scruffy looking one is Captain Solo. This is his ship. It's really fast."

...In the Force, is the crow a person.

"Is the force a person? Because it is the cleansing light from before and also a literal crow."

"Hello?"

He might be scruffy-looking but at least he doesn't talk to magic birds.

cawcawcaw

[Is this ship moving kata to develop hyper-psedo-velocity? What is its power source?]

"...Chuk, is there anything you can tell us about your bird?"

"Her name is Sabak, and she came to me after I got sad one of the other kids cut himself looking for a rock to throw at me."

It's possible that the Force has sent this child his way for a reason. Maybe he needs to learn something.

"That's... impressively kind of you. I'm glad you had a friend. Why would they throw rocks at you?"

"Doesn't have to be a reason," he interrupts roughly. "Kids are bastards sometimes." Luke's a good guy but he does have a way of turning things into, basically, really gentle interrogations.
