"Not...yet...but my plans are all still pretty short-term right now. I'll let you know if it comes up?"

He gives her a firm straight nod.

"I expect I'll call on you when I get down to 'Cheliax and Nidal exist' on my to-do list, if not sooner."

"Oh, we have plans for Cheliax." It's not like Cheliax doesn't know.

“Oh good! Do you know if anyone has plans for Nidal?”

He's pretty sure Aroden did. "Not yet."

"Actually, not a country-scale problem, but I was also asked to come to Tianjing to heal people, do you know where that is?"

Tian Xia. Where in Tian Xia? No idea. "Two continents west, I'm afraid."

“Hmm. Thanks. Is there a library that might have the information, that seems faster than trying to dead reckon by asking directions on the continent in question.”

"The University of Almas has some of the finest maps in the world. Ask for Ambre at the library, she'll show you right."

"Thanks!"

Okay, she knows the way back to the university, obviously, she can ask where the library is once she gets there.

The students, when asked by a white-haired woman covered in magic items and with a full adventuring party following her around where the library is, respond by giving her directions. The library building is one of the largest on campus, with fresh new copies of books from the latest scriptoria, but it's still less impressive than the Axis bookshop with its shelves full of copies of new identical books from planet after planet.

There are librarians! They look remarkably like librarians!

“Hello! Can I see a map that will show me where in Tian Xia Tianjing is?”

There's a quick 'oh, should we ask for her permission to use the library' but she is a high level adventurer making completely reasonable requests. "Of course!" They can get and unroll for her a very beautiful map of Tian Xia, only forty years out of date, from the reports of the most modern travelers. It looks like it's right where the one inner sea splits into two inner seas, on the northwest side of where a really gigantic east-west river meets a north-south inner sea.

"- But the borders change very quickly," the librarian says apologetically. "So this might not be up to date."

"Well, I'll aim for not a border area, then. Probably the capital? The guy who sent the lantern archon with the message had the title 'First Speaker,' that sounds like someone who might be found in a capital."

"Tianjing is a republic," he says, "headed by a council of the heaven-blessed, not by any one man." That's what they say. "Zetang sounds like the place to look."

She memorizes the location of Zetang. “Thanks.”

She drums her fingers against the table.

"My first impulse is to hare off there immediately but that's probably the same set of impulses that I've been trying to learn to route around," she says after a moment. "I should at least think about what my next steps are..."

The librarian will withdraw from the High Level Adventurer Strategizing.

"We've avoided retaliation so far, but I don't know how long that will last, especially if we stop moving." Fortunately, everyone here likes where they're going.

"What are your present objectives, miss Whitman?" He's more bodyguarding, less list-managing.

Deep breath. More finger drumming. "I'd like to deal with Geb. I'd like to see what's going on in Avernus since I melted it. I'd like to resurrect a lot of people, and I'd like to identify the corpses of people whose souls have been destroyed and see if I can save them. I'd like to see if I can synthesize spellsilver and I'd like to figure out if rescuing Razmir is going to result in useful magic item production or in more problems. I'd like to resurrect more undead and I'd like to resolve things in Ustalav so that people aren't fighting over it like cats with a dead snake."

Hmm.

"I don't know how to fight Geb. Avernus takes two plane shifts."

"Or a scry, for seeing."

He inclines his head.

“I think fighting Geb is gonna be on me.”
