Henry turns his face away. "You shouldn't..."

He kisses Henry on the cheek. "Don't tell me what to do."

Well, he is crying harder now.

That's okay. He can keep holding Henry for as long as he is welcome.

After a while: "You... you should get back to work or something."

He nods and lets go of Henry. "I'll see you later, then."

Off he goes. He leaves the cell door open.

Henry does not leave. Presumably someone is going to close it.

And above all, he deserves this.

It seems the Powers That Be disagree with this assessment, for no one comes to close it.

After a bit, a dwarf passes by and sticks their head inside. "Yo. You comin' for dinner?"

"Okay..." Henry says slowly.

Out the dwarf goes, then, not waiting for him.

Well, he knows where dinner is served.

Yup!

Sadde and Temperance are there, as well as a few other people.

...Is anyone looking daggers at him?

Nope. People are mostly ignoring him, and the few people who glance at him don't double-take or anything.

...Maybe they don't know what happened. Henry certainly feels like he should be looked at dagger-like. He fetches his food and tentatively approaches Sadde and Temperance.

Sadde looks up at him and smiles.

Henry... sits, yeah, that is what he is going to do.

Temperance looks a bit uncomfortable, but smiles.

"Doing better?"

"They let me out of the brig."

"Yes, I know."

Henry starts to eat like he expects to be kicked out of the table if he calls too much attention to himself.

So Sadde and Temperance can resume a technical conversation about spacetime runes.

Temperance is a bit subdued, but that is exactly the right kind of topic to distract her from the awkwardness.
