So, due to a recent mention of capitalization in the intro thread, I have found myself very curious about different people's languages!
… Do people even have capitalization in their languages? Does the concept make sense, does it correspond to some related concept in your language, how would you go about applying it to a foreign word if relevant…? (I'm not sure if the translation effect will allow detailed discussion but we should be able to talk about it?)
A lot of the languages I speak have capitalization in their written formats, and capitalization is (to me) modifying the first letter (that is the first block character that's written together) to another variant that's often larger or blockier, usually for proper nouns (places and names and so on) or the starts to sentences (groups of words)? Some languages use it differently.
I did mention I was into linguistics. I am also into languages. Feed me your data (he says, jokingly).
