"You'll have to show me sometime."

Raafi grins. "Perhaps tomorrow?"

"Ummm... Yeah! I'll be free!"

That gets a smile from Raafi, and the kobold giggles quietly at him.

Hee.

Dinner nom nom.

Nom nom lean (hair kiss) nom.

...the kobold isn't going to go to Satele's room after dinner, probably, but she is going to make a portal to check on her. Outside the door; privacy matters.

Satele's back in.

Any clue how she's doing?

She seems to look fine.

The kobold considers, and then pops over anyway; better to err on the side of being too available than on the side of being not available enough.

Kobold hug.

"Hello. It's somewhat later than usual for you."

"Yeah," hug. "You weren't in this afternoon. Council meeting?"

"Yes. We were discussing Occlus's demonstration of yesterday."

Nod, snuggle.

Snuggles.

"We got the first group of slaves out. Two hundred some, yesterday after Milliways."

"That is excellent news. I trust it went smoothly?"

Grin, nod. "One of the guards shot at me, Ana blocked it, I would have been fine anyway but it would have slowed us down a little. Nobody got hurt at all."

Smile. "That is very good."

"Mmhmm." Such smiling. "It always surprises me a little just how much I like doing that. It's - how much have I told you about kobolds and ownership?"

"I don't believe you've told me anything."

Nod. "Well, it's almost not a concept we have at all. If someone's using something, or holding it or wearing it, you're not supposed to take it, but aside from that, not sharing things is considered antisocial, you'll get in trouble if you make a habit of it. I understand ownership, sort of - I told you about the summer I spent with the tigerfolk, I picked the idea up there - but most kobolds would just be baffled by the whole thing. It's one of the things that makes us bad neighbors," this gets a conspiratorial grin, "because most kobolds don't see anything wrong with taking things that other kinds of people are defending but not using, and that's kind of a sport, among kobolds."

"A sport, hmm?"

"Sort of; kobolds aren't very competitive. But if you want the tribe to think you're very skilled and impressive, that's one way to do it."

"And I assume this relates to freeing the slaves?"
