It is indeed. Hug!

"How was your afternoon?"

"The younglings are so cute," she asserts with a hug.

"They aaare!"

Hee.

And so the kobold tells Ana about her afternoon, including showing off the upgraded holocam.

Ana is impressed by the holocam!

The kobold is pleased. "I'm not sure how useful it'll be, but it's a neat trick if nothing else."

"Yeah!" Hugs. Noms.

Noms; hugs.

The kobold settles into a comfortable schedule of three afternoons a week with the younglings, one devoted to art - she finds intentionally unrealistic styles slightly baffling, but the techniques used to create them interesting to play with - and the remaining three to adding battlefields to her teleportation repertoire, spending time with her friends, and generally doing as she pleases. After eight days, one of her students produces their first stable spell, prompting a fancy celebratory lunch at Milliways; after another four, she has a question for Satele.

"I haven't heard anything about Occlus recently; are you still talking to them?"

"Ah, I meant to tell you. We finalized the treaty three days ago."

Grin, hug. "And?"

"Essentially, she will not be exiled and in return, she will track down and contain any Sith knowledge or artifacts that remain."

Continued, slightly more enthusiastic, grinning. "Good, I'm glad. I'm, um..." she pauses for a moment to think about her approach. "I've been thinking about it, and I was being a little hastier than I like to be when I said I was pretty sure I wasn't going to give Occlus the teleportation. Not that I've decided the other way, and if you were assuming they wouldn't have it when you decided that I'm fine with not giving it to them, but if not, I'd appreciate knowing how you made that decision, since it'll help me make mine properly."

Contemplative hugs.

"I think we would, at this point, be more comfortable with that idea. It was not included in our thinking when we finalized the treaty, but it would not fundamentally change it."

She nods and considers. "I think... for combat uses, aside from being able to make traps I don't think it'd make Occlus that much more effective; most of the things it can do, they can already do something similar enough. And I wouldn't be surprised if that's true of the traps as well? You probably have technology for that."

"Similar, yes. Nothing with quite that effect."

Nod. "And giving them a way to make traps that can be nonlethal just as easily as they're deadly, and not any less effective when they are, seems like it probably won't hurt anything."

"The other thing to think about is that if I give them the teleportation form, you can't exile them; they can just come back. How sure are you that that's not going to come up?"

"As sure as we can be, unless she does something very unexpected."

The kobold nods again, and spends a few minutes thinking. "I don't think there's any serious reason not to do it. I'll go talk to them and see how I feel about it."

"All right." Hug.

Snuggle.

The next day she's with the younglings, but the following afternoon she stops by Occlus' office after lunch.

Occlus is not in her office.

What does the droid have to say about where she is?

She's at the dig site.

And therefore so is the kobold. She appears on the outskirts and makes her way in on foot, as before, for politeness' sake.

Occlus intercepts her halfway there.

"Hello."
