Diana Pallas grew up in Dalaran. This does not, actually, explain how she ended up learning how to smite zombies (no, *that's* explained by the fact that she's always been a bit more comfortable working with her hands than her head, for all her talent for the latter, and happened to impress a visiting paladin with her general *drive*) but it does explain why she learned how to work quick-cast arcane magic and furious blows into the already-formidable paladin fighting style, after training with the Argent Dawn and Crusade. She is also a capable enchanter, smith, and engineer, though less prone to the sort of gnomish or goblin absurdities. She makes reliable things, first and foremost.
