Description | An alt of Worth the Candle’s Captain Blue in the Bottle, a Necromancer with some… interesting takes. Ascended to Lichdom with 100% consensual (for a certain value of consent) sacrifices he fairly compensated. The strongest magic in his reality is based off building massive structure (ziggurats and pyramids primarily). These structures in turn allow people at their apex or central nexus to perform immensely powerful spells. Eli was a key member of a civilization that took this to extreme heights, bootstrapping resources and magic from smaller structures to build larger structures to scale to immense structures. During this time there was massive wealth inequality, with the rich augmented with numerous permanent spells while the poor labored hard for bare essentials (even the poor could afford magical augmentations also, but magical waste byproduct had wrecked agriculture, leaving the common person dependent on magically created food that was produced by monopolistic organizations). Eventually, this society collapsed violently and destructively, but Eli was a prepper and easily survived with enough resources to rebuild elsewhere. In modern times, most civilized societies in Eli's world ban private ownership of large magic structures, heavily penalize magic waste production, and ban many magics Elie prefers (such as most forms of necromancy). Eli lives in one of the major holdouts, a magically powerful but internally disorganized and politically isolated city-state ruled by undead oligarchs. |
