Baanom is the fifth son of the second son of the patriarch of the Mantsalluu clan, one of the blessed noble clans of the Great Island. Like all true blooded children of the Mantsalluu clan, he possesses an aura of good fortune which spreads through the world around him, laying its many fingers on everything within its domain to bend them towards his goals. Unfortunately for him, his luck is not as strong as that of his siblings, or his cousins, and when his father fell upon debt, Baanom was sold into slavery.
