She pats the small briefcase next to her.

"Just a drop off. And to check if there's anything you'd rather say face-to-face."

"Mostly I'm going completely stir crazy and I can't wait for this to be over."

"It's been less than two days."

She can't exactly say that she cut all ties to most of her friends on the internet after she became a magical girl. And that Ellie, and playing around with her magic, has been occupying most of her free time since then.

"I get bored easily."

"Do you want to try harder to circumvent your parents' restrictions?"

"Yes. But it's not worth it. And also my mental state is affected by not having those grief cubes, so I'm not sure if I'm in the best place to be making those kinds of decisions."

"Take these, then, and text me if you need more. And I'll see about adding more to the server for you to check over."

"Thanks."

"Your mental health is important."

"Are you saying I should just leave? Wouldn't that be a little suspicious?"

"I'm saying that I'm here to help you, and that's easier to do if you'll talk to me."

"My parents found out that I was out late and they grounded me. It's not that complicated."

"Regardless."

"I need more secure communication. On the hardware end. Talking to you here is fine but makes me nervous." She looks at the other passengers of the train.

"Secured against what?"

"Against my parents. Who work in computer security at their firm and so know how to get past basic security measures. I'm not conscientious enough to reliably keep them out without something more substantial."

"What model of phone do you use?"

Naomi names a brand and model. "I've jailbroken mine."

"I'll get you a replacement."

"Is it meant to be a decoy or what?"

"Visually the same, but with better encryption than is commercially available."

"... thanks."

"Ah, this is my stop. I'll have that for you by tomorrow."

"Same place?" A corner of her mouth quirks up.

"Yes."

The doors of the train open, and she steps out.
