It takes him a moment to realise that's directed at him and another to make himself respond. "I-" he shakes his head. "M'fine, ma'am." (He would've said that even if he wasn't, it wouldn't be right to keep Pradnakt from sleeping, but in this case, it is in fact true.)

"All right. I'll see you tomorrow, then." And she climbs back up to the upper ledge.

He watches her go out of the corner of his eyes, confused, before looking to Daisy, half hoping she'll provide some clarification. Or instruction, or something.

"You can go back to sleep, it's fine."

He hesitates for a moment, signs: If you're sure?

I'm sure. But we can go home if you want.

He's still, breathing, and then shakes his head slowly. (They want him to tell them what he wants, and while he's not used to trying to figure that out, he likes it out here.) Here is. Good.

He lies back down, but doesn't close his eyes immediately.

After a moment, Daisy starts humming a wordless lullaby tune.

It's not even a conscious decision to close his eyes again, they just sort of...drift shut as he listens to Daisy's humming. Eventually the sound soothes him back into sleep.

A few hours later, the sun begins to rise. A nearby ledge shades him, at first, but that protection doesn't last long.

He wakes as the sun rises, brain convinced he's overslept, but he manages to not panic - it's still early, and he's fairly sure Pradnakt didn't go to sleep that long ago, and he's pretty sure she said she normally sleeps until noon. He looks around.

Everything is the same as last night; Daisy is still at the head of the bed. "Good morning," she says, quietly. "You should probably get some more sleep, if you can."

He shakes his head. "Used to...getting up earlier." (Often after far less sleep than he's been getting these past couple of days.)

"All right. Pradnakt will be down soon, then, and we can go in for breakfast."

"I- is- is me being awake...disturbing her?"

"It'll have woken her up, but it's fine, you're not bothering her."

He doesn't look convinced, comfortable or happy about that. But he also doesn't panic about it. Daisy wouldn't lie (he doesn't think).

"It's not your fault, Nova, she's not going to get upset at you for something you can't do anything about."

"I really won't," Pranakt agrees, looking down at them from the upper ledge. "Ready to go in?"

He twists his fingers together. (Tries not to think about all the times he was blamed for things he had no control over.)

He licks his lips, and nods hesitantly - more because he's still not used to being really expected to respond to these things than because he isn't.

"All right. We can come back out later, maybe set the tent up out here." She climbs down.

He gets to his feet, hesitates looking at the cot, and then back to Pradnakt - he's not entirely sure her statement needs a response, so he doesn't give one.

She levitates the cot again when she reaches the ground. "Get the cookies, Love?" she directs at Daisy, and the droid goes to do that.

"I can-" he starts to say he could carry something, but stops, blinking as he realises that Pradnakt just called Daisy 'Love', and...isn't entirely sure what to do with that. (Except they'd said Daisy was special to Pradnakt, and maybe that explained it.)

Pradnakt heads up the trail toward the house, but Daisy pauses once she has the cookie box to wait for Nova. "Is everything all right?"

He's quick to follow after them, giving a small shrug at Daisy's question. "Just-" he tries to think of the word for it. "I- everything's...new. Different."
