Ira's waiting, in the driver's seat, but with the car turned for a quick get away. He restless and impatient.

Deskyl lets the girl go, and the three of them pile into the back. She signs once to DZ, who relays the message as the van pulls off: "They saw her, but she doesn't think we'll be followed. She should notice if we are."

Ira's quiet for a moment. "If getting home isn't critical, I'm gonna dump this car and pick up a different one, take the long route home."

DZ tries to relay this to Deskyl, but the Sith is distracted watching her young counterpart and doesn't respond. "That will be fine, sir."

"Mnuh?"

Ira shrugs. "Might be overkill, but I'd rather not take any risks."

Deskyl seems fixated, staring at the girl; for her part, she's looking back and forth between the Sith, the droid, and the driver, not sure what to make of any of them.

"That's Ira, Ma'am," DZ puts in after a second. "And this is Deskyl, and my name is DZ. Deskyl is from another world, and has magic; that's how she noticed you. We came as soon as she did."

"Mmh. D'niece," she taps her chest, and then gestures vaguely at the interior of the car.

"Yes ma'am. We don't have a car of our own, but it was very important to Deskyl that we come get you as soon as we could."

Denice makes a face at this, directed at Deskyl, who signs back.

"She says you're more important than a car, ma'am."

Denice doesn't stop making the face; there's more signing.

"The other children are, too, but we couldn't take all of them, and you're the most important to her."

"You can help her figure out what to do about it, now that you're free. Or she'll help you, if you'd rather."

"Mnh," Denice allows, and shifts to lean against Deskyl and watch the road.

Ira finds a suitable replacement for their first stolen car and it doesn't take him particularly long to have them back on the road again, and even though he takes the long route, he still seems to not really have a concept that speed limits apply to him.

The three in the back are quiet for the rest of the ride home, Denice watching the scenery and Deskyl watching Denice and DZ watching the both of them.

When they drop the car off on the other end, Deskyl immediately hurries Denice toward the house, but DZ stays behind for a moment to talk to Ira before he takes the car away from the house. "Thank you, sir. I know she isn't showing it much but Deskyl does appreciate your help."

Ira shrugs, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "S'not like I don't owe her."

She is perhaps taken aback by that; it's never very easy to guess what her odd pauses mean.

"As far as I can tell she doesn't think you do. I can ask, if you like."

He shrugs again. "Some debts just are."

"...I think she'd like to know you feel that way, sir; Sith don't work like that. But I don't have to tell her if you'd rather I not."

"I'm sure she has more important things on her mind right now."

"- yes sir." She heads in.

Shin eyes them as they come back in. "Something happen?" he asks, eyes narrowed at Ira - who doesn't even acknowledge the question.

"I'll tell you later, sir. Which way did Deskyl go?"

Shin points.

Ira has grabbed his bag by this point and is on his way back out the door.
