"I wasn't really planning on it. To the extent I liked it there it was all the thing where everybody could mindread, and I can get that hanging out on Vanda Nossëo."

"Cool." And the space alts sent one set, there they are - "Hey, have you met the space Arda alts yet..."

"I haven't!"

"Oh, Elspeth! Hi! Does being indestructible feel like anything -"

"Nope, not particularly, unless I hold my breath or something."

"Cool. It's very nice to finally meet you. Thank you for all the reasonable Valar."

"You're welcome! They're very silly by default."

"They are. We'd rather despaired of that ever changing, were planning to route around them."

"Are they actually easier to get help from now or just pleasanter to talk to while you ask?"

"Rather depends what you want. And I am not personally in their good graces, because of, well, everything. But I think they've been more able to aid and comfort the population of Afterlife and that's something."

"Yeah. I'm glad I can help with that, unreasonable Valar who don't even want to be unreasonable are a sad thing."

"We always knew they were trying. It's nice to see what that manifests as when they actually succeed."

"Any particularly good anecdotes?"

"Oh, there were a lot of lost pregnancies when Valinor was destroyed and that's - not something the Eldar have a concept of - and usually the Valar'd interpret the problem as 'people being sad' and recommend they get treatment or throw a festival or something but apparently they've handled it with sensitivity. They've relaxed the censorship, too."

Nod. "Relaxed like how much?"

"Uh, I think they replaced it with an advisory system but good citizens still don't watch things with an advisory for explicit content or antisocial behavior and Elves are very rule-abiding. To be fair, human media genuinely doesn't appeal very much to us? Different aesthetic preferences."

"I got pretty good reception when I danced in Evil Arda but presumably you mean plot-wise or something - what's Elf media like, where would be a good place to start to see if I like it?"

"We've got theatre -" he names some shows, "and dance definitely - " he names some of those - "and movies but they're mostly art, not plot..."

"Sometimes me or a witch who does visual illusions send movies into the heaps of people being turned - she does it most of the time but anything that relies heavily on music I have to do because she has to use subtitles - so I'm generally on the lookout for interesting things to offer."

"Vampires might appreciate some Elf stuff more because you've got better visual acuity than humans. And Macalaurë's music is generally considered stunning everywhere but wouldn't help if someone can only do visual illusions - you could give some people Loki's illusion spell -"

"The illusion spell won't help; people in Alec's field have all their conventional senses cut off. I work and Zafrina works but the illusions you have to actually look at. I'm not actually sure to what extent people mid-turning can appreciate high-fidelity projections; I don't think anyone's commented that my stuff is grainier than Zafrina's and she's a full vampire..."

"Huh. Well, I'll send you a media recommendations list."

"Thanks!"

"My pleasure! It's lovely having everyone in one place, we should do this with something resembling regularity."

"Since you're an Elf I'm guessing you're thinking 'once every five years'?"
