"I was going to suggest three!"

Giggle. "I'd say annually on the anniversary of something but I don't know the anniversary of what."

"Maybe when we first made contact with Hex? That was when we learned about alternates, learned there were other magic systems and might be a way to undo what we'd done..."

"Maybe. Or the anniversary of the first death of a Melkor."

"I think Loki's died first but that one we might have to change if we make contact with another Arda that took him out sooner."

"That's true, since they're all on different schedules..."

"Yeah - like, chronologically, Shine wins, their Darkening happened fifty Years earlier. In terms of time from the Darkening to the Enemy being neutralized, we win, but we're not celebrating any anniversaries of our war -"

Nod. "Contact with Hex might be a good milestone."

"Which just leaves the question of whose years to use."

"Hex's, maybe."

"I shall run the idea of regular parties by everyone. I expect they'll be excited; we drew straws for who got to come this time."

"That's how you allocate things amongst forks?"

"Not usually!! We've all specialized enough that usually someone's best equipped or best qualified. But we are all equally qualified to attend parties!"

"What are you all specialized for?"

"Trade policy, international relations, justice system, multiverse stuff, immigration and refugee resettlement, and constituent support - the latter being the standard thing that I considered my primary role in Valinor, being findable and solving my peoples' problems for them."

"Which one are you?"

"Immigration! I'm working out plans for visits from evil Arda, we're going to have a try at exposing them to non-evil places and seeing if good can be more culturally contagious than evil."

"I hope that works."

"Us too."

"How does immigration not count as multiverse stuff? What does count as multiverse stuff?"

"Well, most of what I do in immigration is not multiverse stuff, and then when multiverse immigration became more of a thing it seemed like the necessary skillset in terms of providing people with housing and necessities and getting them up to speed was the immigration one. My multiverse stuff fork mostly lives and works in Vanda Nossëo figuring out which of Edda and Edda-adjacent magic systems and inventions and discoveries need implementing on Endorë, and vice versa."

"Oh, I haven't run into him there. Maybe 'cause he can't read my mind and most of what I do there is sit around thinking loudly."

"You could install a chip if you wanted to be around space Elves more, though it has some serious drawbacks."

"Yeah, although I guess if I really trust my daeva indestructibility it might be safe to try..."

"Oh, risk isn't one of the drawbacks, though do it on your planet where your precogs can see it. The drawback is that if it leaks how daeva can make chips they could fork you."
