"It's kind of cute, apart from all of the torturing and murdering people? Possibly I should stop reading before my brain falls out. They will definitely torture and murder people if they get the chance, though."

"We'll find her. They won't get the chance."

Nod. "Any plans on how to do that?"

Table-kick.

"Enough," he says very quietly.

"I guess we just go out and look."

"All right. Cool. We can do that. After I, uh, sleep and eat and I guess go to school in the morning. Gosh it's late."

"Oh it is, yeah. - uh, can I have - do you want - a hug?"

"Yeah."

Hugs. Hugs are very important and good.

I'm so sorry.

Don't be. - or, well, for which thing?

You nearly died. I want to say it won't happen again but I - can't even promise that -

She hugs him tighter. She wishes she had better words.

I know. I'll try to be careful. But it's - the median slayer doesn't make it a year, and - I did start doing this before I had backup. I know what might happen. I don't expect this job to be perfectly safe.

You make it a lot safer, though.

Don't die.

I'll try my very best.

Nod. Squeeze.

He guards her house all night, pointlessly.

She writes very thorough notes about the day's happenings. She snuggles her dog, who is still reading. She wakes Azalea up really early in the morning and asks her to help her figure out how to apply makeup that makes it look like your face isn't covered in fading-now-but-not-fading-fast-enough bruises. She goes to school and goes to journalism club and bounces around some ideas for what exactly they are going to say about whatever happened at Parent-Teacher Night.

Any particular place we should start sweeping the city?

They got a location from one of the vampires Spike turned. She wasn't there but she might not have wandered that far.

Solid.

The abandoned factory has a room with a bed, several expensive dresses, and a collection of little china dolls in it.

At least we know she was here.

Yeah.

How helpful to her are her visions, should we pretty much assume we're dealing with a precog?

Sources disagree. She can't have perfectly reliable precognition that gives her all the information she could want about something, or she wouldn't have sent Spike into the school. Probably. Assuming she likes him. But beyond that I'm not sure.

Alright. I guess we fan out from here.

On it.

Wherever Drusilla is, she's laying low for the moment. There are no obvious signs of a vampire.

That sucks because it means they probably won't find her until she kills someone.

They get an advisory published that a dangerous serial killer is on the loose, encouraging people to call the FBI if they see her.

They go back to school.

Where school things happen!

So how did we classify Snyder's evil levels, asks Karen, a few days later, around lunchtime.
