It is about halfway through the third hour of the fifteenth day of Lucette's attempt to reorganize her grandfather's library. The project is moving at an acceptable pace overall, though she's starting to question the wisdom of having scheduled the whole thing down to the hour during day three (hour four).
Lucette writes to Sophie the next with an invitation, as well as her daily logs of the weather in York since the last time she wrote.
Lucette sends the only letters consistently worth reading!
Yes of course, she can visit that weekend. She'd come on her own sooner than that but flying long distances alone isn't allowed for young ladies because people don't think women can read maps or something like that.
That doesn't make any sense because it's a sensation Lucette feels and has no effect on Annie at all.
No the poison causes Annie's skin to... to... Lucette can't quite remember anymore, it was there a moment ago...
The last ones didn't fade... possible this is a result of the demon being weaker after the first haunting? It did only have six arms this time.
"Yeah. I really hate the - but if it's like a bad dream, I wasn't previously having a crisis every time you went to sleep about the possibility you'd have a nightmare."
Sophie arrives the next day.
"Hi what is the weather like where you're from? Lucette told me it's not very nearby...I'm Sophie."
"It occasionally hails. I haven't been able to directly appreciate almost anything about the weather as of late since I am blind and deaf and rather insensate to the temperature. I don't think I got rained on, I would have noticed that."
"I have a separate power that lets me understand and speak all languages and it cuts through the part where I'm blind and deaf. So I can hear voices speaking but only that, I can't hear it if you cough or something."
