:I don't know if there's anything really specific. I guess I'm expecting to sleep worse, but if it's really bad I can go sleep in the stable with Yfandes so she can help:

:That sounds like a good option to have. Do you have a plan for if it hits you harder than you're expecting?:

:Savil has plans to cover all of my duties if it turns out I can't do them. The plan is that I'll skip Mindspeech relay anyway because it's early in the morning, and I traded with Savil so I can do mage-work instead of teaching lessons, I find it less stressful, but it's all non-urgent so if I can't do it at all that's fine: He is very embarrassed about the prospect of not being able to do it at all, though. :And I can always go see Lancir:

:Sounds good.: She sends affection and comfort with it, in lieu of a hug. :You know, every resource needs upkeep, just about. I don't think you'd blame someone for being too frail to do things if they were starving to death. Your situation is a little more subtle than that, but it's the same concept.: More comfort. :It's not going to be like this forever.:

He hopes not, anyway.

:I'm sure it's not. You're doing really well already, for what you're dealing with - you're alive, that's an accomplishment, don't underestimate it - and you're not going to start slacking off now. It's just slow, is all. Sometimes things are. But if you look back on this month next year, you'll be shocked.:

:...I suppose things are better now than a year ago. I couldn't have done an away mission at all a year ago:

:Mmhmm. It's easy to miss how things improve from day to day, especially when it's not a steady improvement, but that doesn't mean things aren't improving. And you have more resources now. I know being without the calming effect for a couple days will be hard, but I don't intend to make you do without it again, not until you're ready to; you'll have that base to build on, and whatever else we work out.:

Vanyel nods, offers a watery smile. :It does help a lot. And - this makes the most sense to do, so you can get recovered fully and be done:

:Yeah. A couple days of this, a couple days to get my Force effects back in order and figure out shielding, and then I can hang out with you during the day. I think it'd be worth it even if I wasn't getting frustrated with everything else. We're looking at maybe a couple of months, the other way, at the rate I've been managing.:

:Makes sense. This way seems a lot better for you:

:That too, yeah.:

Vanyel nods and falls silent.

"Confirmed with Andy they're interested in sending a few different Healers in to watch the process," Savil says cheerfully.

:Sounds good. That's probably everything, then.:

Then they can eat dinner and make small talk until Vanyel starts yawning and Savil suggests he's clearly ready for bed.

Deskyl heads over with him. :Will you be able to be there for the healing tomorrow?:

:Oh, for Savil? Yes, I should be:

:I'd appreciate it. For after - it's - it doesn't mess with my head much, but it does do it at all, and I don't like being alone afterward.:

:Oh, right, that makes sense. I'll be there:

Vanyel hugs Savil goodnight before she heads out, then climbs into bed.

And Deskyl calms him to sleep.

The next day, Savil meets Deskyl outside the guest wing to head to lunch with Queen Elspeth.

She's there and ready, with DZ following along as usual.

This time lunch is in one of the meeting-rooms, not Elspeth's suite. She's waiting for them there with Herald Lancir. "Deskyl, DZ. Thank you both for coming."

:Thank you for having us. How does the political situation look?:
