"Not unless you like the Imperial leadership."

"Not particularly. Should we move our ship, too?"

"It might be a good idea to run it back a little further under the trees. We should have twenty minutes or so before they get here. Mara will go with you."

"Alright. Thanks for the heads up."

Mara leads the way back to their ship.

"Your boss seems to be a good man, or at least an honorable one," she says, idly. Not quite needling, but... She needs to get a better read on Mara.

"He is," she says. "More than is good for him, sometimes." That last bit is muttered like she may not entirely have intended to say it aloud.

"The galaxy doesn't have as much respect as it should for honor, I suppose."

"The galaxy's a rough place. For some more than others."

"That's always been true."

"Hn. Here's your ship."

"Thanks."

"Whatever. Hurry up and move it, we're wasting time."

"Right."

And: moving the ship back into the trees.

"She doesn't seem to like you," Occlus comments inside.

"I know her from - the Imperial period."

"Which does make her revealing me a slight risk, but... She doesn't seem likely to right now."

"Perhaps not so long as she dislikes the current representation of the Empire more than you."

"Or until she'd get something out of revealing me. Still, if Thrawn is as involved in the Imperials as I suspect - he didn't meet me too often, but he should be able to guess who I am. It'd be a larger problem if that guess filtered back to the Republic."

"Let us then try to avoid such a meeting."

She nods.

"I think keeping away from him is currently more important than finding out what he's up to here - but I would, in fact, like to know that."

"Perhaps Karrde will tell us if we ask. And we may be able to observe from a distance ourselves."

"That'd be best, yes..."

Then they can take two pairs of macrobinoculars with them when they exit the ship.

Mara sighs. "Planning to spy?"

"Seemed an entertaining way to pass the time."

"Try not to get caught. We don't need that complication."
