"That would be helpful, yes."

Karrde smiles. "Why don't we go back to that map, then, and you can point out where exactly we're going..."

She smiles as well, and glances at Occlus. "Works for me."

She nods her assent.

And once the destination is confirmed, the expedition can get underway. In addition to Karrde and Mara, they're accompanied by three of Karrde's men with vibro-shovels. When they reach the appropriate location, the base of a low rise, Occlus directs them in setting up the digging operations with the ease of long practice.

She picks her conversations with Karrde back up during the down time, mostly sliding around asking him about the Imperials and their business.

He's evasive, though does intimate that they've been harvesting live ysalamiri.

An interesting creature.

Not as broadly useful as it once was, though, in a galaxy with- what is it, three living Jedi?

Mara grimaces.

Depends on how you count, really, and how you define 'Jedi.' The Jedi Order of the late Republic would probably consider Luke a feral heretic, for one.

The finer points of that religious demarcation are surely lost on a humble smuggler such as himself.

It no longer matters, regardless, especially with so few claiming the title nowadays.

Fair enough.

One of the diggers hits metal.

Occlus calls a halt, and carefully overseers the unearthing of a metal door.

"Seems we found our target."

"What's inside?" Mara asks.

"A legacy." Occlus bends to unlock the door. "You should remain up here."

She seems ready to balk at that.

"I'd recommend listening," she says, softly, to Mara.

"And you know all about listening, traitor."

"Quite a bit, though perhaps not obeying."

"It might be better to say 'listen when someone implies an action is unsafe.'"

"If you think I'm going to let you run off with who-knows-what-"

"We'll wait up here," says Karrde. "It's not as though there's another entrance, Mara."

To Karrde: "Thank you."

To Occlus: "Does 'stay here' extend to me, too?"

"You may join me."

"Alright." She steps up beside Occlus. "Onward, then?"

Down into the metal bunker. There's a steep ladder down.

At about the point where the light from above fades out, Occlus flips one of six switches on the wall. After a grinding hum that shakes the floor, lights come on, revealing a thick door with a wheel-type lock barring the way. She activates an additional two switches, then begins spinning the wheel to open the door.

"It's trapped, of course, but I won't make you solve the puzzles."

"Appreciated. We might be here a while otherwise."
