Lanling is as glossy and prosperous as ever, all shiny gold and blue and marble beneath the cheerful sun. People bustle around in the streets, Koi Tower looming grandly above them all.

There are plenty of inns around the city, if she would like any. There are also plenty of roads leading towards Koi Tower, if she would prefer those.

What she would like to do is find a nice, bustling marketplace as close to Koi Tower as possible and listen for rumors about her target. 

Here's a nice marketplace! Most of the bustling people are only gossiping about their own personal lives, but it doesn't take too long to encounter rumors about Jin Guangshan. These fellows over here are having an extremely animated discussion over the odds of Sect Leader Jin raising various taxes.

A short while later, this couple mention his return from travels in the past month -- where did he go again? Qinghe? Ah, well, it doesn't mean that much where he says he was traveling anyway, does it.

-- no seriously, is he going to raise taxes? Before or after the next harvest?

I heard his meeting with Sect Leader Nie went quite well, I wonder if he'll come to Lanling and there will be some sort of party sometime soon...

...and finally, huddles of cityfolk gossiping about Sect Leader's latest mistress. I heard she was a girl from a peasant family living in Lanling, what are the odds that we might know her!

Oh come off it, what are the odds we don't know someone the Sect Leader has slept with.

-- I heard she was an outer disciple of the Nie Sect, a pretty lady who likes to wear silver. Do you think that's real? Do you think his recent diplomatic visit was just an excuse to see her? That's so romantic, isn't it.

Well if he didn't have a Nie mistress before his visit, he certainly does now.

And so on.

What kind of moron thinks of Sect Leader Jin's conquests as so romantic? 

Whatever. 

She loiters around Koi Tower as inconspicuously as possible, seeing if she can catch a glimpse of him. 

Eventually that evening, Jin Guangshan does in fact venture out into the lower courtyards. Him and his bright robes and his ornamental retinue.

She finds a place to stand where he can see her but someone with a less one-track mind would be less likely to notice a pretty woman. She waits until she can catch his eye, then winks and blows a kiss, using a wind talisman to blow a folded paper where he can catch it, with a time and a place. 

Score???

This is - unexpected. But delightful. He certainly isn't going to turn her down.

Jin Guangshan appears at the designated location a classy five minutes late, already smirking like an asshole

The place is VERY secluded. Excellent for all KINDS of things one might not want witnessed. 

She smiles, and approaches him, and as soon as she's stepped right up to him she draws her sword and rams it through his chest.

"What -- thhhfuck -- bitch --??" he gasps, sagging to his knees. "Y--   you -- "

"You know, if you were slightly less indiscriminate with your predations I would think you had good taste in women," she says brightly. "Meng Shi is delightful. And had no idea you were never, ever going to come for her and the son she bore you." 

"THhhh - - ??? Did -- that whore pay you to -- "

He braces one hand against the ground, breathing in heavy and labored pants. "You'll never -- none'f you'll get away... with -- fffuck."

"Pay me?" Giggle. "Oh no. It was just the last straw. You're a menace to all womankind, Jin Guangshan, and nobody will ever know that it wasn't an angry husband who did you in." 

"I'm - menace? You - just STABBED - me, I --" He needs to summon help, his security, but his brain has already gone too fuzzy to send a message with spiritual energy. "You jealous -- wretch --"

His arm gives out and he flops onto his side.

"Jealous?" she giggles. "I have a husband who's faithful, what do I have to be jealous of?" 

Jin Guangshan is too preoccupied with choking on his own blood to summon a witty answer to this. He wretches and claws weakly at the grass. "Bitch. Get -- m -- hh -- guards, they...you..."

"It's amazing how well the requirements for a good place for an illicit liaison and for a murder match up," she says, inspecting her fingernails casually. "Really, I'm surprised your wife hasn't arranged something before this." 

He attempts to respond angrily to that, but can only produce garbled wheezing.

It takes him under five minutes to die.

Cangse is relatively merciful. She waits until the relevant less-than-five-minutes have elapsed before she cuts his dick off and stuffs it in his mouth. 

And then she walks away without once looking back.
